The BU Guinobatan Science Club, in collaboration with the BU Guinobatan Sports Club, is pleased to announce that the Color Fun Run 2026 will be held on:

📅 March 25, 2026 (Wednesday)
⏰ 6:00 AM
📍 Bicol University – Guinobatan Campus

📌 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
Due to limited time for processing documents for outside activities, the fun run route has been changed. The event will now be conducted within the campus

In line with this, the following 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 and 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 shall be observed:

• The activity is 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 for all bona fide 𝗕𝗨 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

• A registration fee of ₱50.00 is mandatory from each participant.
➤ H𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿, students with valid medical conditions who can present a medical certificate are exempted from paying the registration fee.

• On the day of the event, participants are required to wear a 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁-𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁, comfortable running gear, and appropriate rubber shoes.

• The Fun Run consists of three consecutive rounds that all participants must complete without taking shortcuts to ensure fairness and safety.

📌 The 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 will start on Friday—𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 20, 2026 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 24, 2026 (𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆). For 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, the Block Treasurers will remit to the Science Club Treasurer.
The 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲 shall cover the following:
• Water
• Snack
• Color Splash

📌 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟯 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 from both 𝗠𝗲𝗻 and 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 category will receive 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 and 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 after the event.

• 𝗠𝗲𝗻 and 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 Category:
- 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗿: ₱ 1500.00
- 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗿: ₱ 1000.00
- 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗿: ₱ 500.00

📌 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 must submit a 𝗝𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗧 to their respective 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

📌 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 must also secure a 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 from 𝗕𝗨 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 at 𝟴:𝟬𝟬 𝗔𝗠 to 𝟱:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 as a requirement for participation in the activity.
The medical of all participants will be scheduled this Monday, March 23,2025

• While 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 can use their 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 that was released during enrollment.

• Also, 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 and 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 that have a 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 can pass their medical certificate to their 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. 𝗛𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥, it should be 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟭 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿.

GUIDELINES:
1. THE COLOR FUN RUN IS MANDATORY FOR ALL BONA FIDE BU GUINOBATAN STUDENTS. THE NON-TEACHING AND TEACHING PERSONNEL ARE ALSO INVITED TO JOIN BUT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO WIN PRIZES.

2. REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE FROM March 20 TO MARCH 24, 2026, FROM 8:00 AM TO 5:00 PM.

3. THERE WILL BE A REGISTRATION FEE OF PHP 50.00. REGISTRATION FEE :
INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: WATER, COLOR SPLASH, AND SNACK.

Those who have health reasons no longer need to pay the registration fee.

4. PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A WHITE T-SHIRT, COMFORTABLE RUNNING GEAR, AND SHOES ON THE DAY OF THE ACTIVITY.
5. ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER TO ENSURE SAFETY AND SECURITY.

THERE WILL BE DESIGNATED ORGANIZERS and MEDICS AT THE ASSIGNED STATIONS TO GUIDE

6. PARTICIPANTS MUST FOLLOW THE DESIGNATED ROUTE AND ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE SHORTCUTS.

7. THE COMPETITION WILL BE HELD ON MARCH 25, 2026, ASSEMBLY STARTING AT 6:00 - 6:30 AM IN THE MP FIELD -GATE 2 - ADMIN THE FUN RUN CONSIST OF THREE CONSERVATIVE ROUNDS THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS MUSR COMPLETE WITHOUT TAKING SHORTCUTS TO ENSURE FAIRN AND SAFETY.

🔬🐃 Science Explains:
Frequent submersion in water or mud is a key thermoregulatory and antiparasitic adaptation in water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis). Because these animals have few sweat glands, wallowing helps them stay cool in tropical heat, protect their skin from harmful UV rays, and reduce biting insects and parasites.
By using water and mud in this way, water buffalo turn their environment into a natural refuge—showing that behavior can be as important as size or strength for survival. 🌞🌿🌍✨

Through the fascinating art of blackwater photography, divers have captured young fish carrying stinging sea anemones in their mouths. Instead of avoiding these venomous creatures, the fish cleverly use them for protection, turning the anemones’ sting into a natural shield against predators.

Today’s #𝐆𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲'𝐬 features the 𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒑𝒉𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒂 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒆, also known as the “𝑣𝑎𝑚𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑠” or “𝑧𝑜𝑚𝑏𝑖𝑒 𝑓𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑠,” is a parasitic fungus that infects and manipulates houseflies with eerie precision. When a fly comes into contact with its spores, the fungus invades its body, consuming fat reserves while spreading through its tissues. Over several days, it releases chemicals that hijack the fly’s nervous system, forcing it to climb to a high spot — a behavior called “summiting.” As sunset approaches, the fungus compels the fly to extend its proboscis and secrete a sticky substance that glues it in place, then raises its wings in a characteristic pose. Remarkably, the fungus kills the fly exactly at sunset, guided by its internal biological clock, to ensure optimal spore dispersal. After the host dies, the fungus bursts from the fly’s body, releasing a cloud of spores into the cool evening air — a perfectly timed strategy that keeps the spores moist and increases their chances of infecting new flies.
