The Lenten season is a time of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal. During this period, the faithful are called to observe abstinence, practice almsgiving, and deepen their prayer life. Through these acts of sacrifice and generosity, believers prepare their hearts for the celebration of Easter.

169 years ago, Robert Baden-Powell was born. He saw that young people can do more than they are told, and that character is shaped by the choices we make every day.

He trusted young people to stand on their own, to act with courage, and to keep their word. Scouting became the proving ground where actions, not words, define who you are, and where small choices shape a lifetime of character.

Founder’s Day reminds every Scout that leaving the world better starts with each of us. What you do, how you act, and the way you keep your word today can echo far beyond what you see.
