Today, we celebrate the Feast of St. Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist, whom Christ called from his life as a tax collector to become one of His faithful Apostles and proclaim the Good News. His story reminds us that God calls each of us by name and invites us to leave behind our old ways and follow Him with faith and courage.

“Follow me.” And he got up and followed him. — Matthew 9:9

Noong panahong iyon, sinabi ni Hesus sa kanyang mga alagad ang talinghagang ito: “Ang paghahari ng Diyos ay katulad nito: lumabas nang umagang-umaga ang may-ari ng ubasan upang humanap ng mga manggagawa. Nang magkasundo na sila sa upa na isang denaryo maghapon, sila’y pinapunta niya sa kanyang ubasan. Lumabas siyang muli nang mag-iikasiyam ng umaga at nakakita siya ng iba pang tatayu-tayo lamang sa liwasang-bayan. Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Pumaroon din kayo at magtrabaho sa aking ubasan, at bibigyan ko kayo ng karampatang upa.’ At pumaroon nga sila. Lumabas na naman siya nang mag-iikalabindalawa ng tanghali at nang mag-iikatlo ng hapon, at gayun din ang ginawa niya. Nang mag-iikalima ng hapon, siya’y lumabas uli at nakakita pa ng mga ibang wala ring ginagawa. Sinabi niya sa kanila, ‘Bakit kayo tatayu-tayo lang dito sa buong maghapon?’ “Wala pong magbigay sa amin ng trabaho, e!’ sagot nila. At sinabi niya, ‘Kung gayon, pumaroon kayo at gumawa sa aking ubasan.’

“Pagtatakip-silim, sinabi ng may-ari ng ubasan sa kanyang katiwala, ‘Tawagin mo na ang mga manggagawa at sila’y upahan, magmula sa huli hanggang sa buong nagtrabaho.’ Ang mga nagsimula nang mag-iikalima ng hapon ay tumanggap ng tig-iisang denaryo. At nang lumapit ang mga nauna, inakala nilang tatanggap sila nang higit doon; ngunit ang bawat isa’y tumanggap din ng isang denaryo. Pagkatanggap nito, nagreklamo sila sa may-ari ng ubasan. Sabi nila, ‘Isang oras lang pong gumawa ang mga huling dumating, samantalang maghapon kaming nagpagal at nagtiis ng nakapapasong init ng araw. Bakit naman po ninyo pinagpare-pareho ang upa sa amin?’ At sinabi niya sa isa sa kanila, ‘Kaibigan, hindi kita dinadaya. Hindi ba’t nagkasundo tayo sa isang denaryo? Kunin mo ang ganang iyo, at umalis ka na. Maano kung ibig kong upahan ang nahuli nang tulad ng upa ko sa iyo? Wala ba akong karapatang gawin ang aking maibigan sa ari-arian ko? O naiinggit ka lang sa aking kabutihang-loob?’ Kaya’t ang nahuhuli ay mauuna, at ang nauuna ay mahuhuli.”

Minsan, nawawala ang ating saya dahil palagi nating tinitingnan kung ano ang mayroon ang iba. Nakakalimutan natin na may kanya-kanya tayong panahon, biyaya, at pagkakataong ipinagkakaloob ng Diyos.

Sa Ebanghelyo, ipinapaalala sa atin na hindi natin kailangang ikumpara ang ating sarili sa iba. Ang mahalaga ay maging tapat tayo sa ating sariling pagtawag at matutong magpasalamat sa mga biyayang tinatanggap natin, sapagkat ang kabutihan ng Diyos ay hindi nababawasan dahil pinagkalooban din Niya ang iba.

This is 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝.

Because we believe that the most beautiful expression of our faith is not found in what we say, but in how we love.

We dream of a generation of young people who do not simply gather, but give.
Who do not simply celebrate, but serve.
Who do not simply call themselves beloved, but become instruments of God's love for others.

Because being 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃 by God is not simply a gift we receive—it is a mission we embrace. The love we have encountered in Christ is meant to become hope for the weary, dignity for the forgotten, and a future for those longing to be seen.

We have journeyed onward, and now we are reminded of where this journey is leading us—to the heart of a love that has always been there.

Before we became who the world expects us to be, we were already loved by God. Before our victories and failures, our dreams and doubts, Christ called us His own.

As we continue our journey toward Diocesan Youth Day 2026, may we discover that being beloved is more than receiving love. It is allowing God's love to transform us—and choosing to share that love with others.

𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐠𝐨

Young people of the Diocese of San Jose de Nueva Ecija, remember who you are: Beloved.

Before your achievements, before your failures, before the expectations of the world, there is one truth that remains unchanging: you are deeply loved by God.

The logo of Diocesan Youth Day 2026: Beloved is not merely a design. It is a proclamation. A reminder that every young person carries a dignity that comes from being loved first by Christ.

This year's theme invites us to move beyond words and into action. To be beloved is not only to receive love, but to become love for others. It is a call to build bridges where there is division, hope where there is despair, and compassion where there is suffering.

As we journey toward DYD 2026, may this logo remind us of our mission: to become living witnesses of God's love in our families, schools, workplaces, parishes, and communities.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 | Our Lady of Sorrows

Today we are celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. It is a day dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary who faithfully stood at the Cross and suffered with the martyrdom of her son Jesus Christ. Through the eyes of Mary we see the depth of a mother's love, the beauty of faithfulness and the power of perseverance in times of darkness.

We ask that Our Lady of Sorrows would pray for us in our time of need and that she would teach us to stand firm in our faith and suffer well with the knowledge that God has not forsaken us.

“Holy Mary, Mother of Sorrows, pray for us, that we may remain faithful to Christ in times of joy and in times of suffering.”

We thank God for the wonderful gift of your life and for the many ways He continues to guide you in your journey of faith, service, and learning. As a former member of our Social Communications Ministry, your creativity, dedication, and willingness to serve have left a meaningful mark on our parish community. Now, as a student nurse, may you continue to bring that same compassion and heart for service into the path God has entrusted to you.
