- The Review and Herald April 14, 1904, paragraph 6
WE HAVE A PART TO ACT IN THIS WORK. Let none think that men and women are going to be taken to heaven without engaging in the struggle here below. We have a battle to fight, a victory to gain. God says to us, “Work out your own salvation.” How?—“With fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
GOD WORKS and MAN WORKS. We are to co-operate with God.
God has a work for each one of us to do, and into this work we are to put all the power of brain, bone, and muscle. We are to keep ourselves in the best condition for the accomplishment of this work. We are not our own; we have been bought with a price; and in all that we do or say, we are to glorify God.“And to patience godliness.” In thought, word, and deed, God's people are to be Christlike.
Ellen G. White the Prophet of the Mainstream SDA Church.
- The Review and Herald June 11, 1901, par. 2
Let us not neglect OUR PART. We are to labor together with God, working out our own salvation with fear and trembling, knowing that it is God who works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. If we are faithful in doing our part, in co-operating with Him, God will work through us the good pleasure of His will. But God CANNOT work through us IF WE MAKE NO EFFORT. If we gain eternal life, we must work, and work earnestly.
Not one OF US will EVER receive the Seal of God WHILE our characters have ONE SPOT or STAIN upon them. It is left with us to remedy the defects in our characters, to cleanse the soul temple of every defilement. THEN the latter rain will fall upon us as the early rain fell upon the disciples on the Day of Pentecost.

- Testimonies for the Church Vol. 5 p.214.2
The saints in that fearful time, after the close of Jesus’ mediation, were living in the sight of a holy God, without an intercessor.
The LAST tear for SINNERS had been shed, the last agonizing prayer offered, the last burden had been borne. The sweet voice of MERCY was NO MORE to invite them. They did not choose life,
AND NOW THERE WAS NO ATONING BLOOD TO CLEANSE THE SINNER.
AND NOW THERE WAS NO ATONING BLOOD TO CLEANSE THE SINNER.
AND NOW THERE WAS NO ATONING BLOOD TO CLEANSE THE SINNER.

Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Sin = is the transgression of God's law; it is not the nature of man.
Sinful Nature = is simply the possession of a weakened, deteriorated body and mind that is prone to temptation; however, it is not sin in itself.
Ellen G. White the Prophet of the Mainstream SDA Church.
There is ONLY ONE definition of sin. “Sin is the transgression of the law.” [1 John 3:4.]
Letters and Manuscripts Vol. 17 p.1.3922
SIN is a Violation, NOT a biological inheritance. A violation cannot be inherited.
Ezekiel 18:20
The son shall not bear the iniquity(SIN) of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity(SIN) of the son.
There are 3 biblical evidences showing that God does not regard our sinful nature, in itself, as sin:
1.) Jesus also took upon Himself the same sinful nature that we have, yet He did not become a sinner simply because He possessed a sinful nature.(Romans 8:3)
Ellen G. White the Prophet of the Mainstream SDA Church.
- Review and Herald August 22, 1907, par. 1
Clad in the vestments of humanity, the Son of God came down to the level of those he wished to save. In him was no guile or sinfulness; he was ever pure and undefiled; yet he took upon him our SINFUL NATURE.
2.) A person with sin who entered the Most Holy Place would die immediately. Yet when Aaron entered the Most Holy Place, even though he possessed sinful nature, he did not die. This demonstrates that God does not regard our sinful nature itself as sin. (Leviticus 16:2–6)
3.) Sin is recorded in God's books and can be blotted out. But why is our sinful nature not recorded in God's books and not blotted out? Because possessing a sinful nature is not, in itself, sin. God does not regard our sinful nature as sin.
God will judge us according to our works, not merely according to our nature. The Scriptures teach that every person will be judged according to his deeds, words, and choices before God. Therefore, while our sinful nature makes us prone to temptation, it is our actions and moral decisions for which we are held accountable.

All your acts are recorded, whether they are good or bad.

- The Great Controversy p.482
Every man’s work passes in review before God, and is registered for faithfulness or unfaithfulness. Opposite each name in the books of Heaven is entered, with terrible exactness, every wrong word, every selfish act, every unfulfilled duty, and every secret sin, with every artful dissembling. Heaven-sent warnings or reproofs neglected, wasted moments, unimproved opportunities, the influence exerted for good or for evil, with its far-reaching results, ALL ARE CHRONICLED BY THE RECORDING ANGEL. The law of God is the standard by which the characters and the lives of men will be tested in the Judgment.
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, ACCORDING to what he has DONE, whether good or bad.
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each ACCORDING to his WORKS.
Revelation 22:12
And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one ACCORDING to his WORKS.
Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life.
And the dead were judged ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS, by the things which were written in the books.

- The Signs of the Times August 9, 1905 par. 8
He came to prove that human beings can, through the power of God, LIVE SINLESS LIVES.
Jesus said Go and SIN NO MORE - John 8:11
STOP Sinning - John 5:14
Is it possible for Seventh-day Adventists to live sinless lives through the power of God before glorification while still possessing a sinful nature?
Jesus says YES, it is ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE through the power of God. However, we should never be boastful and claim, “I am already sinless.”
It is possible for people today to live without committing sin through the power of God, but only God truly knows who these individuals are.
Likewise, it is possible for people today to be saved through the power of God, but only God knows with certainty who is saved.
When the conflict of life is ended, when the armor is laid off at the feet of Jesus, when the saints of God are glorified, THEN and THEN ONLY will it be safe to claim that we are SAVED and SINLESS. True sanctification will not lead any human being to pronounce himself holy, sinless, and perfect.
LET THE LORD proclaim the truth of your character.

ELLEN G WHITE the Prophet of the MAINSTREAM SDA CHURCH.
We are NEVER to rest in a satisfied condition, and cease to make advancement, SAYING, “I am saved.” When this idea is entertained, the motives for watchfulness, for prayer, for earnest endeavor to press onward to higher attainments, cease to exist. No sanctified tongue will be found uttering these words till Christ shall come, and we enter in through the gates into the city of God. As long as man is full of weakness,—for of himself he cannot save his soul,—HE SHOULD NEVER DARE TO SAY, “I AM SAVED.”

In our work we are to remember the way in which Christ worked. He made the world. He made man. Then He came in person to the world to show its inhabitants how to LIVE SINLESS LIVES.
- The Signs of the Times June 17, 1903 par.10
He became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Thus He placed us on vantage ground, where we could live PURE, SINLESS LIVES.
- The Story of Jesus p.77.1
We have sinned, and have wandered away from God. Christ says we are like the sheep that has wandered away from the fold. He came to help us LIVE WITHOUT SIN.
- Letters and Manuscripts Vol. 18 (1903) p.1.5388
In these words the truth is plainly stated. If it were not possible for us to LIVE WITHOUT SIN, these words would not have been written. They are recorded that we may not carelessly allow ourselves to continue in SIN. Let us walk in the light of the living God.
