In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Municipality of Guagua through the Office of Municipal Social Welfare and Development and the Local Council of Women (with SI Guagua President Janina Lagman as concurrent LCW President) launched the first ever cooking contest entitled “HerStory: Lutong Bale, Kuwentong Tagumpe.”
This activity highlights the traditional and home-cooked dishes prepared by women from different generations. Participants will compete in pairs composed of intergenerational women within the family. It also allows the participation of women mentors and friends, fostering stronger bonds and shared experiences through cooking. Reflecting their personal stories, culture, and life experiences. The activity serves as a platform to showcase not only culinary skills but also meaningful journeys behind each dish.
The contest also aims to celebrate the talents and creativity of women in the community, promote and preserve cultural and family heirloom dish, provide a platform for sharing their inspiring life stories, and strengthen women empowerment through cultural and community engagement.
Thank you MSWDO esp to our LCW focal person Ms Niña, our ever reliable LCW officers and all of the LGU staff who helped make this event a success.
Thanks to our Judges - Monette of Bariotik, Tintin of the Original Razons, and Marimon of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars. You made this first of its kind cooking contest truly credible and reputable.
Congratulations to our participants and winners! We are proud of you for stepping up and sharing your time and talent with us.
