Inspired by the life of Honorable Nick Fabon Sr. - an enterprising Geodetic Engineer from Banton Romblon - a loving father, sports enthusiast, community organizer, and staunch politician who always had his eyes and heart with the poor. Nick Fabon migrated to Lucio Laurel (formerly Langgang) right after taking his Surveying Degree from Mapua Institute of Technology. He started a family life with fo
rmer Rosie Famarin Fano by growing rice in a small field owned by a relative. His hard work made him acquire his own farms, engage in various businesses, and put up his Surveying Office which made great strides in the Bureau of Lands' projects from Ilocos to Visayas. He distributed vast land areas to poor farmers in the hinterland of Gloria while working closely with leaders of native Mangyans. He was Municipal Councilor of Gloria for successive terms and became a Member of Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Oriental Mindoro. His wife was equally formidable in politics having closely missed the highest post in the municipality. Nick Fabon developed a local subdivision, donated lots for public use, church, and had envisioned to put up hospital, commercial, and entertainment center ... he had many dreams which were cut short by illness. He taught this founder the importance of education for he himself had successfully sent all his kids to college, the love for sports and discipline which molded my character. I enjoyed full financial and moral support when - at young age - I ventured into coaching and managing a team. His experiences made me realize the value of healthy living. Nick Fabon Foundation was founded in honor and memory of him.
