Pastor-Reservist Rev. Sgt. Navarro: Serving God and Country
Rev Sgt Pedro E. Navarro Jr. has proven that service to God and Country knows no boundaries. A pastor by calling and a soldier by duty, he now serves as the Civil Military Operation Non-Commissioned Officer and Brigade Chaplain of the 1602nd Ready Reserve Infantry Brigade, 2RCDG RCPA at Camp Melchor F. dela Cruz (Annex), Soyung, Echague, Isabela.
Answering both his faith and patriotism, he joined the Philippine Army Reserve Force at age 40 after completing his ROTC Basic Training and was later assigned to the 21st Infantry Battalion. Beyond wearing the uniform, Navarro embraced his mission of providing spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and counseling to soldiers and their families.
His dedication was recognized when he was named Reservist Enlisted Personnel of the Year during the 5ID 44th Founding Anniversary, conferred by MGen Gulliver L. Señires, Commander of the 5th Infantry Division. On March 19, 2025, he also passed the deliberation of the AFP RESCOM Chaplain Service and now awaits his commission as a full-fledged Military Chaplain.
Today, Navarro continues to inspire through his monthly radio segment on XFM Santiago 104.9’s Serbisyong Katropa, where he shares messages of faith and hope. He also leads prayers in every 2RCDG activity, ensuring that every mission is grounded in God’s guidance.
For him, being both Pastor and Reservist is one united mission—to serve faithfully, with compassion and devotion. His life stands as a wholehearted offering to God and to the Nation.
