Ayon sa KMJS, almost 7 million Filipinos na ang affected ng Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Parami nga nang parami, at pabata nang pabata ang nagkakasakit nito. Karamihan daw sa nagkakaroon nito ay yung mga mahilig sa chichirya at ginagawang tubig ang softdrinks. Oo, masarap nga naman kasi, pero once na magka-CKD ka, baka pagsisihan mo rin ang mga ginagawa mo ngayon. Isipin mo, magda-dialysis ka three times a week. Tutusukan ka ng malalaking karayom at titiisin mo ‘yon sa loob ng ilang oras, and bukod pa doon, may bayad pa kada session. Sa nakita ko, parang 3500 pesos per session, tapos 3 times per week, so halos 10,500 kada linggo.

Kaya payo ko lang sa ’yo, umiwas ka na sa maaalat, sa matatamis, at sa matataba, at higit sa lahat, uminom ka ng maraming tubig palagi.

Isipin mo, yung sakit na ’yan sobrang “shy type.” Madalas, makikita mo lang ang sintomas kapag malala na. Kaya habang wala ka pang iniinda, simulan mo na ayusin ang lifestyle mo. 🙏
