Concept Note:

Inspired by the ecological vulnerability of marine environments and the power of human intervention to reverse aquatic degradation, this artwork contrasts plastic debris removal and artificial reef deployment with a vibrant marine ecosystem thriving just three months later. It targets coastal communities, youth, students, and marine conservation advocates, using an accessible four-panel comic format to transform complex environmental concepts into a clear narrative. The design actively promotes disaster preparedness by reframing ecosystem restoration as a crucial defense against slow-onset hazards, demonstrating how clearing toxic marine pollution secures coastal food webs and constructing artificial reefs creates resilient natural barriers that break wave energy, curb shoreline erosion, and shield coastal communities from severe weather events.

𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪

𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪

This matter was resolved during a hearing held at Brgy. Dadiangas North Hall, presided over by Brgy. Captain Hon. Genesan Aguda Saulon, together with the Lupon Tagapamayapa.

The Complainant is the President of SAKLAW himself. During the proceedings, the Respondent admitted that she made the defamatory statements regarding the online donation of SAKLAW. As part of the settlement, she is now submitting a formal apology letter addressed to the SAKLAW Organization and to the President.

For transparency, SAKLAW has already posted the liquidation report regarding the online donations. All records are open for verification by the members and the public.

The President, as Complainant, also demanded that no similar accusations or statements shall be made again against his immediate family, the members of SAKLAW, and in connection with any activity of SAKLAW.

A warning was also issued that any person who continues to spread false allegations will be subject to the same legal action.

Both parties agreed to respect the terms of the settlement to maintain peace and good relations within the community.

𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪

On the Shooting Incident at Ateneo De Zamboanga University
August 18, 2026 | Zamboanga City

Today, a place of learning became a place of mourning.

SAKLAW Organization strongly condemns the shooting at Ateneo De Zamboanga University in Barangay Tumaga that claimed 2 lives this morning. We send our deepest condolences to the victims’ families, the injured, and to the entire school community whose sense of safety was shattered.

A campus should be a second home for students. When violence enters those gates, it betrays that trust.

That fi****ms were brought inside despite security measures shows deeper systemic failures. This is not only about guards. It is about responsible gun storage at home, coordination between schools, LGUs and police, and how we address student welfare and mental health.

We cannot treat this as an isolated case. We have seen too many incidents of violence in schools. If we do nothing, we tell the next generation that fear is part of education.

SAKLAW calls for immediate action:
1. LGUs must conduct strict and regular security audits in all schools.
2. DepEd and DILG must issue clear guidelines on campus safety and emergency response.
3. Parents must be held accountable for proper safekeeping of fi****ms.
4. Schools and communities must strengthen mental health support and early intervention.

We urge the Office of the President, DepEd, DILG, PNP, and local leaders to act now. We need real security, real accountability, and real prevention.

Let this be the last time parents light candles for children lost in a classroom.
Let this be the last time a school becomes a crime scene.

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘃𝗲 - July 5, 2026 | Balunto, Brgy. Labangal. 128 children served. Through 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝘀 (School Supplies & Drawing Materials), 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀, 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, we reached children in Balunto. We also turned over 2 boxes of mineral water to Balunto Alliance Church as a gesture of support and gratitude.

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘃𝗲 - July 18, 2026 | Saint Paul of the Cross Mangustan Chapel, Brgy. Dadiangas North. In celebration of Nutrition Month, we continued KaBata Project and benefited 25 children in the community through food, activities, and health awareness.

𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱: 153 children as recorded in the attendance sheet. We also accommodated walk-ins and unlisted participants to ensure that no child was turned away.

This mission was made possible by our partner volunteer organizations and donors:
𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗦𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚, 𝗦𝗦𝗟𝗚-𝗗𝗡𝗛𝗦, 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝘀 | 𝗦𝗞 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗕𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘅, ₱3,000 from the founder, ₱1,000 from private individual, ₱650 from Online Donation, and to volunteers who gave their time, talent, and treasures that includes ₱1, 373 pesos. The total amount used is ₱6,023.

After KaBata Project, we also conducted 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪 𝗔𝗜𝗗 | 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 in Purok Lower Puting Bato, Brgy. Calumpang, distributing gallons of water and clothes to families affected by the earthquake and severe flooding.

Salamat sa lahat ng naging SAKLAW ng Pag-asa para sa mga bata at sa ating komunidad. Sama-sama para sa mas maliwanag na bukas! 💚

To the Community and Concerned Public,

We, 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪 Organization, are a group of young volunteers who respond during times of calamity to provide aid, volunteer, and serve on the frontlines.

We are issuing this statement to address false information circulating in Brgy. Dadiangas North, especially in Manansala Street regarding the SAKLAW AID Donation Drive.

Facts:
1. Purpose of Donations: All donations collected were intended for disaster-affected communities as declared by our Founder and the Project Proponent.

2. Projects Implemented:
- SAKLAW AID KaBata Project - Earthquake Response: For children in Brgy. Labangal, Purok Balunto and Brgy. Dadiangas North, Purok 10. We distributed SAKLAW Hope Kits containing School Supplies and Coloring Materials, Nutritious Food, and Psychosocial Support.
- Kalinga Project - Flood Response: For families affected by flooding in Lower Puting Bato, Brgy. Calumpang. We distributed clothes and water supplies.

3. Accountability: No SAKLAW funds were used to build a private house. No funds were misused for selfish purposes. All aid was documented and given directly to beneficiaries.

Incident Report:

SAKLAW has documented an incident in Manansala Street where statements were made implying that SAKLAW AID donations were used for the Founder’s family house. We have recorded evidence and witness accounts of statements including:
- “Online Donation” — while pointing to the house being built by the Founder’s family
- “Bunggo na kayo?” — insisting that SAKLAW funds were used for the house

𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗟𝗔𝗪 will not tolerate the spread of false information that damages the reputation of our organization and its members.
The SAKLAW BOTs Legal Team will be filing a case and an incident report regarding this matter.

We warn that any person who is heard or recorded spreading incorrect information about SAKLAW AID and its fund use may be included in the legal action.

We remain open to present all receipts, photos, liquidation reports, and evidence to Brgy. officials or the proper authorities for verification.

Our focus remains on serving children and families affected by disaster with honesty and integrity.

The SAKLAW Volunteers arrived at the site on July 24, 2026 at Purok Hall, Lower Puting Bato, Brgy. Calumpang.

In coordination with the Purok Chairman, they turned over clothing items and 6.6 mineral waters to families affected by heavy rain and flooding.

The Kalinga Project remains committed to reaching out and providing immediate assistance to our fellow residents in times of need.

Because hope doesn’t stop after one visit.
Because a full stomach today should mean a brighter tomorrow.

In Wave 2, we came back with more than food.
We served and to warm hearts. We gave SAKLAW Hope Kits to remind them they are not forgotten.
We sat, listened, and did simple kumustahan — because dignity is also in being heard.

This is more than aid.
