Bawing Indigenous People's Farmers Association Our shared vision is to educate, enhance skills, and empower our members to thrive in modern society.

We Indigenous people of Bawing have willingly come together to establish an Indigenous People's Organization in accordance with the laws of the Philippines, specifically Presidential Decree No. 8371, known as The Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act of 1997 (IPRA). In this legislation, the Philippines acknowledges four essential and interconnected rights of the Indigenous community: The Rights to Ancestral Domains, Self-Governance and Empowerment, Social Justice and Human Rights, and Cultural Integrity. We aspire that our initiatives will enhance livelihoods and create opportunities for the overall betterment of every Indigenous individual. Furthermore, we are dedicated to developing and preserving the heritage and traditions of our culture and ancestral lands.

Our association was deeply honored to welcome Ma’am Lothel and Sir Marlon Flores last April 30, 2025. They conducted an orientation on the programs of the National Dairy Authority (NDA), which have the potential to create livelihood opportunities for the untapped ancestral lands of the Indigenous Peoples in Barangay Bawing, General Santos City. We look forward to this being the beginning of a meaningful and fruitful partnership between the NDA and the Fotus Calon clan, under the guidance of Fulong Eddie Jose.
