1st Wave for Early Recovery Kicks Off in Mudan, Glan, Sarangani Province with Misereor!

The OND Hesed Foundation Inc., under the GENDERICE Project co-funded by Misereor, successfully facilitated a relief operation and distribution of Early Recovery Response Kits in Barangay Mudan, Glan, Sarangani Province. This initiative was carried out in active partnership with MDRRMO Glan, which provided crucial logistical support and transportation via the MDRRM vehicle.

The activity addressed the devastating impacts of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake and flash floods affecting municipalities in Sarangani Province, with a specific focus on Barangay Mudan in the municipality of Glan. Encompassing the tri-people, the initiative specifically targets the rebuilding of Indigenous Peoples' (IP) lives.

The GENDERICE Project aims to provide timely and equitable relief assistance to disaster-affected IP communities, ensuring that immediate basic needs are met while actively supporting their safety, dignity, and recovery.

A total of 300 households received Early Recovery Response Kits, categorized as follows:
• 193 Households: Self-Help Group (SHG) affected members
• 107 Households: Non-SHG affected community members

Distributed Relief Items (300 Sets Total)
• Lighting and Energy Support:, 300 units of Solar Head Lamps. 300 units of Solar Charging Lights

• Hygiene Kits (300 Packs), each containing Alcohol, Cotton buds, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Tawas, Comb, Towel, Sanitary napkins, Bioderm soap

The successful ex*****on of this relief operation marks a vital step toward healing and resilience for the disaster-affected Indigenous Peoples and tri-people communities of Barangay Mudan. By addressing immediate survival needs through solar lighting and essential hygiene supplies, the GENDERICE Project, in solidarity with Misereor and local partners, not only restores basic comforts but also reinforces the long-term safety, dignity, and recovery of vulnerable families.

👀: OND Hesed goes to the 2026 National SHA Forum!

OND Hesed participated in the 2026 National Self Help Group Approach (SHA) Forum in Nasugbu, Batangas, held from August 31 to September 4, 2026. The annual gathering brought together over 11 partner organizations nationwide to exchange best practices, explore collaborative opportunities, and strengthen efforts in advocating for the rights of women and children. The forum also served as a platform to recognize excellence in program reporting and financial auditing.

Building a safer, stronger Upi, together! Key local officials and school leaders gathered for the organizational meeting of the BARMM Resilience Project Technical Working Group (TWG) at the Sangguniang Bayan Hall.

Empowering the next generation of servant-leaders! 🌟

Fifteen qualified applicants from the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Kabacan Main Campus recently took a major step toward their educational dreams during the Youth Servant Leadership Educational Program (YSLEP) Screening and Orientation.

Hosted at Notre Dame of Kabacan and coordinated alongside the USM Office of Student Affairs, with special thanks to Scholarships Department Head Ma'am Shandra Gonsang for facilitating student participation, this collaborative initiative by the OND HESED Foundation and Caritas Manila continues to foster leadership, service, and academic excellence among our youth.

👀: GLAN, Sarangani Province | August 27, 2026 , In the midst of challenges brought by recent disasters, 771 learners of Glan Padidu National High School were reminded that they are not alone during the 12th wave of relief distribution.

Through the joint efforts of Joint Task Force (JTF) AGILA, the Provincial Government of Sarangani, DepEd Sarangani, the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Camp Panacan Station Hospital Mental Health Team, the 11th Field Service Support Unit, and the Local Government Unit of Glan, together with the 1002nd Infantry (BAGWIS) Brigade, 10th Infantry Division, 10th Civil-Military Operations (KALINAW) Battalion, and 73rd Infantry (NEUTRALIZER) Battalion, learning kits, hygiene kits, and tumblers were distributed to the learners.

This meaningful assistance was made possible through the generosity of SAMIN (Sisters Association in Mindanao) and St. Ignatius Parish, Tokyo, Japan. More than school supplies and hygiene essentials, these gifts carry a message of hope, compassion, and solidarity.

In times of disaster, we may not be able to erase every struggle, but we can remind our youth that someone cares, someone listens, and someone is willing to stand with them.

Together, we nurture hope. Together, we build resilience. Together, we heal and move forward. 🤝💙✨

👀: EXTENDING A HELPING HAND IN MAASIM, SARANGANI 🤝✨

The OND Hesed Foundation, Inc., through its BPI-BATH Program and in partnership with Kindernothilfe, successfully conducted its 12th wave of relief operations in Barangay Bales, Maasim, Sarangani Province. The initiative was funded by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and the Philippine Humanitarian Coalition.

70 Self-Help Group (SHG) members received essential care packages containing:

• 🌾 10kg rice
• 🥫 Assorted groceries
• 🧴 Hygiene kit
• 🚰 6.6L purified water
• 🪵 Warm blanket
