In a continued effort to bring education-focused outreach directly to communities, the General Santos City Junior Officials (GSCJO), together with volunteers from various schools, conducted the second wave of their Mission JuanCity initiative in Barangay Olympog on July 12, 2025.
The activity aimed to promote education and community involvement among Grade Four to Six students by teaching them Vedic mathematics, using pre- and post-tests to assess their learning progress, anchored to the Research study of students from Mindanao State University entitled "Improving Fourth Grade Learner's Multiplication Skills through Developed and Validated Instructional Learning Module on Vertical and Crosswise Vedic Multiplication technique" by Gubat et. al (2024).
In addition to the educational sessions, the team distributed essential school supplies to students in the barangay, including notebooks, writing materials, and other classroom necessities aimed at helping learners prepare for the upcoming school year.
The GSCJO extends their heartfelt thanks to the YADO Gensan, Bobslor Foundation of Mayor Lorelei Pacquiao for the 50 school supplies and the STEM Federation of Fatima National High School whose support was instrumental in making the activity possible.
This initiative is part of an ongoing youth-led campaign that aims to promote inclusive education, leadership, and service throughout General Santos City.
