INTERNSHIP ALERT! 🌱

The Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) is now accepting applications for Youth Interns and Partners under the 2026 Mentoring and Attracting Youth in Agribusiness (MAYA) Internship Program!

Choose your track:
Entrepreneurship Track – Partner with top-tier agri-enterprises and gain the skills to build your own venture.
Employment Track – Experience hands-on learning within agriculture-related agencies.

This six-month internship program will capacitate the youth through mentorship, orientation, basic skills training, and 20 weeks of on-site internship. Interns will be equipped with technical knowledge, soft skills, and real-world exposure in agriculture-related offices and enterprises — all under the guidance of professionals.

Empowering Hog Raisers Through Knowledge and Biosecurity Awareness

Earlier today, livestock and hog raisers of Barangay Conel gathered for 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹: 𝗔𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 and safeguarding our local hog industry. The highlight of the program was an in-depth discussion on 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 delivered by University Veterinarian 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀 𝗡. 𝗠𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲, focusing on practical and preventive measures to protect hogs from diseases and production risks. Participants actively engaged in the open forum, raising relevant concerns and field-based questions which were thoughtfully addressed by our resource speakers and faculty members. The discussion was lively, insightful, and solution-oriented, reflecting the shared commitment of our community toward responsible animal management and sustainable hog production.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻, led by Animal Science and Agricultural Extension Department, with Chairperson 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗙𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗴, together with faculty members including 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗱𝘆𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮, who also serves as the 4-H Club MSU Synergy Adviser. The program was further strengthened by the support of the 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, headed by President 𝗔𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 and his officers, the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 represented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗕. 𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼, the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 through 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗵, the active participation of 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹 through Kagawad 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗼, and the partnership of 𝟰-𝗛 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, led by President 𝗞𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗮.

This extension activity stands as a testament to what strong collaboration between the university, local government units, and youth agricultural organizations can accomplish. As a proud partner, 𝟰-𝗛 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 is honored to be part of this impactful initiative, continuing our commitment to community-based agricultural empowerment and responsible livestock development.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐰!!

Our virtual general orientation was officially kicked off, filled with laughter, learning, and meaningful connections. The program opened with inspiring remarks from Ma’am Gladys Caliza, the adviser of 4-H MSU Synergy, who warmly set the tone and encouraged the members to embrace the values and purpose of the organization.

We were also honored to have Mr. Ivan Shem Gabriel Gumilid, Federation President of the 4-H Club of General Santos City, as our resource person. He motivated and inspired young future farmers by sharing the foundation of 4-H and the true spirit of “Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.”

The 4-H Club MSU Synergy is honored to be officially recognized as one of the accredited student organizations of Mindanao State University – General Santos City for the academic year 2025–2026. This meaningful achievement was formally awarded during the University-wide Organization Recognition held on June 28, 2025, at the University Gymnasium, where student leaders gathered in celebration of service and unity.

Rooted in the values of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, 4-H promotes leadership, community engagement, and personal development. We look forward to a new academic year filled with meaningful initiatives and strong synergy within and beyond the campus.

We proudly extend our heartfelt congratulations to 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝗧𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶 (𝗕𝗦𝗔 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆) and 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘇𝗼 (𝗕𝗦 𝗔𝗕𝗠) of the 4H Club of MSU-GenSan for securing 2nd place in the 4-H Songwriting and Singing Contest: Duet.

Their original song, "𝗜𝗸𝗮𝘄 𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝘀𝗮," beautifully captured the essence of hope, resilience, and empowerment, serving as a testament to the vital role of youth in shaping a sustainable future. Through their heartfelt lyrics and captivating performance, Joshua and Ricky impressed both the judges and the audience, demonstrating the power of music as a platform for advocacy in agriculture, sustainability, and community development.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) marks its 38th anniversary today, January 29 at the Philippine International Convention Center with the theme “Youth in Agriculture: Cultivating Innovations through Partnerships”. The event will highlight ATI’s commitment to empowering the younger generation and advancing the agricultural sector through collaborative efforts.

One of the key highlights of the celebration will be the launch of the International Internship Program in Israel in partnership with Agro Studies. This initiative will provide young Filipino farmers with the opportunity to receive advanced agricultural training abroad to broaden their knowledge and skills in modern farming techniques.

Another significant moment will be the ceremonial awarding of start-up enterprise funds to the second batch of interns from the Youth Internship Program on Organic Agriculture (YIPOA). The program supports youth in pursuing organic farming by offering hands-on experience and financial resources to help them establish their own agricultural businesses.

ATI will also formalize the partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) for the STARBOOKS program through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Meanwhile, the Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) will be endorsing the second Anak TV Seal Award and a nomination for the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) to the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) AgriKids program.

ATIng Extension on Wheels, designed to bring essential agricultural resources and support directly to rural communities, will be showcased during the event.

Lastly, ATI will unveil DigiAgriHacki, a new initiative aimed at accelerating the development of digital solutions for sustainable agriculture.

As the capacity-building arm of Philippine agriculture and fisheries sector, ATI continues to inspire and support the next generation of farmers, innovators, and entrepreneurs who are transforming the industry for the better.
