Last May 29, 2026, the BS Psychology department launched the 2-session extension service initiative titled โH.O.P.E. CARE: Holistic Outreach for Parent Empowerment, Care, Advocacy, Resilience, and Education," which aims to promote holistic well-being among parents and caregivers of people with special needs, with the residents of Brgy. Bernardo Pulido as beneficiaries. The project is guided by its project leader Mr. Mark Joseph A. Viado under the supervision of Mr. Rowee M. Marfil as the Head of Extension Services and Dr. Rommuel E. Abanto as the program chair of BS Psychology.
The first session commenced with the resource speakers Mr. Mark Joseph A. Viado, Mrs. Josephine Manlapaz, and Mrs. Anna Mae Dublado delivering insightful discussions regarding emotional and social well-being as part of the holistic approach in caring for and empowering the caregivers.
The successful conduct of the first session of the extension program was also made possible by the help of the League of Psychology Students (LPS), who served as the co-facilitators of the event. The organization took pride in becoming part of the process aiming to extend services to and beyond our communities. And this further solidifies the aim of EARIST Cavite in expanding initiatives, including in important communal aspects such as mental health, well-being, and empowerment. ๐
