Siargao Masaya Aide aux populations nécessiteuses de la région de l'île Siargao aux Philippines – Surigao del Norte.

Fondée en 2010 par Stéphanie Roth, Siargao Masaya est une ONG à but non lucratif, laïque et apolitique, basée à Zinal en Suisse, qui s’engage à améliorer les conditions de vie des populations nécessiteuses de l’île de Siargao, aux Philippines. Masaya signifie « heureux » en tagalog, la langue nationale philippine. Comme le dit si bien l’adage « Espérer, c’est être heureux ». L’objectif de l’associ

ation est d’offrir un peu d’espoir à ceux qui sont démunis face à l’accès à l’éducation, à l’économie local et aux soins de santé de base. En échange, par leur sourire et leur simplicité, ils nous apportent un peu de bonheur. Symbole de l’association Siargao Masaya, la spirale de l’oeil de Shiva évoque l’amorce d’un nouveau cycle qui, grâce à une collaboration entre différentes cultures, donne la chance aux communautés de Siargao d’envisager un nouveau départ.

We are so proud to celebrate the achievements of our students! ♥️

This year 11 students graduated from Grade 6, 17 students graduated from Grade 10, 20 students graduated from Grade 12, and 18 students graduated from college! 🎓🌟

Each graduate has shown remarkable dedication and resilience, overcoming challenges with strength and perseverance. Their hard work and determination have paved the way for a future full of possibilities.

These milestones are more than academic achievements—they are doors opening, cycles breaking, and dreams taking root in the heart of Siargao.

• Elementary Grades 5-6: Tuesday, May 27 in the afternoon (1:00 PM)
• Elementary Grades 1-4: Wednesday, May 28 in the morning (8:00 AM)
• High School Grades 7-8: Wednesday, May 28 in the afternoon (1:00 PM)
• High School Grades 9-10: Wednesday, May 28 in the afternoon (3:00 PM)
• Senior High School 11-12: Thursday, May 29 in the morning (8:00 AM)
• College students: Please send a message individually via Messenger to Siargao Masaya

As college graduation soon approaches, we’d like to share a success story from Siargao Masaya Scholar Edward G. Fiel Jr. 🎓 Edward has shown remarkable dedication and hard work in his studies and now continues on with his work. 😊 May his story inspire the future graduates!

It warms our hearts knowing that the scholarship program opens up so many positive possibilities for the students. Thank you to all the donors who make it possible for students like Edward to continue their education and broaden their horizons! We are truly grateful. 🙏🏾🌟

Here’s a message from Edward:

“Hi everyone, I’m Edward G. Fiel Jr., a proud student of Siargao Masaya. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology last August 2022 and passed the final examination on March 2023. My degree is a program that equips students with knowledge and skills used in the
detection, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases. Now that the final challenge in my course is over, I intend to help and give back with what I can to
those in need here in Siargao. I also plan to study Medicine to further enhance my capabilities to serve and care for my fellow Siargaonons. I succeeded in my studies
with the heartfelt and generous support of Siargao Masaya. Words cannot describe how grateful I am with the help that I received throughout my journey. I could not

Paradise is our home—let’s keep it clean! 🌿🌊✨

Last month, we teamed up with the scholars and volunteers for a beach cleanup at Purok 1! Together, we not only cleared plastic waste but also shared knowledge about marine life and how pollution affects our oceans.

Living on an island is a gift, but protecting it is our responsibility. Let’s preserve Siargao’s beauty for generations to come! 💙

Last Saturday, the Mobile Library made its way to the kids of Sta Cruz for a unique clay workshop. 🛻📚

A huge thank you to Catcat from .gardens for introducing the children to the art of working with clay and how special it is knowing that it’s sourced straight from the beautiful lands of Siargao! 🌿✨

The kids and volunteers were all smiles as they connected, explored, and got creative with their hands. So much joy and wonder floated around! ✨

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing volunteers who made this unforgettable activity possible. Thank you for creating an extraordinary morning for the kids of Sta Cruz! 💖
