On May 5, 2026, a significant milestone in strengthening competency standards and assessment integrity took place at Lakewood Golf and Country Club, where Assessors and Trainers gathered for a full-day Calibration from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The event brought together professionals committed to excellence in technical education and skills development, reinforcing a shared goal: to ensure that assessment practices remain consistent, fair, and aligned with national standards set by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Calibration serves as a critical process—not merely to standardize judgments—but to sharpen the competence, objectivity, and professionalism of both assessors and trainers.
Guiding the participants were esteemed resource speakers from TESDA central office former Regional Director Dr. Nenet Dela Cruz, Miss Ces Amaro, and Miss Des Villanueva. Their insights emphasized the importance of aligning assessment decisions with competency standards, maintaining credibility in certification, and adapting to evolving industry demands. Each session encouraged reflective practice, technical rigor, and a deeper appreciation of the assessor’s role as a gatekeeper of quality.
This initiative was made possible through the leadership of TESDA Nueva Ecija Provincial Director Atty. Eric O. Ueda in partnership with ACT-One, headed by Mark Alfred Atanacio, together with its dedicated officers and Board of Directors. Their collaboration highlights the power of unified efforts in elevating the standards of technical-vocational education in the province.
More than a gathering, the calibration was a reaffirmation of commitment—to produce skilled, competent, and globally competitive Filipino workers. It stands as a reminder that behind every certified individual is a community of assessors and trainers who uphold excellence with integrity, precision, and purpose.
