On July 5, 2025, the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Gandara Chapter successfully conducted Youth Awareness Caravan at Brgy. Palamrag, Gandara, Samar. This activity focused on three important topics: the Unlad Kabataan Program (UKP), Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and U4U. These topics are essential in empowering the youth and helping them navigate the social issues they face today.
Brgy. Palamrag is one of the far-flung communities in Gandara that truly deserves this kind of engagement. Many of our young people here have limited access to opportunities for youth development and social awareness. That is why it was a privilege for us to bring this initiative closer to themโeducating, empowering, and inspiring them to take part in nation-building, starting in their own barangay.
The discussions on SRHR and U4U opened the minds of the participants to the importance of self-awareness, informed decision-making, and the value of their voice and rights as young individuals. Meanwhile, the UKP orientation helped them understand that they are part of a bigger movement that seeks to create a better future for every Gandaranhon youth.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Barangay of Palamrag, led by their supportive Barangay Captain, Hon. Rodeto Maรฑozo, and the active SK Officials also headed by Hon. Dominic Maรฑozo. Your warm welcome and cooperation made this event more meaningful.
To the LGU Gandara and the Office of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWDO), thank you for your unwavering support to PYAP Gandara. Your continuous trust in our advocacy keeps us motivated to pursue our mission of uplifting the youth across all corners of the municipality.
Lastly, to the youth of Brgy. Palamrag, damo nga salamat! We are hopeful that this is only the beginning and together, we can build a stronger, more informed, and empowered youth sector.
