From picking up trash on the field to transforming a school into a greener and vibrant space, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) showed that change begins with action.
On February 27, 2026, YES-O spearheaded a Clean-Up Drive, rallying students and volunteers, in partnership with the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), to sweep, sort, and collect their way to a cleaner, healthier environment. The initiative went beyond tidying spacesโit fostered environmental awareness, teamwork, and a shared sense of pride in Escalante National High School.
The Clean-Up Drive, originally proposed by Sir Jesus V. Tabelino, became a reality with the strong support of Assistant PrincipalsโSir Marlowe S. Maguate and Sir Jaymar P. Lee, whose encouragement helped mobilize the school community. The activity was successfully carried out through the cooperation of participating clubs and departments, including the TLE Club, Social Studies Department, Values Education Club and Teen Center, Math Club, Samahang Filipino, Science Club, and MAPEH Club, all of which actively contributed to the initiative.
By the end of the day, what started as a simple act of picking up litter had blossomed into a community-driven movement, proving that even small hands can leave a big impact.
