1975: 55th Annual Session of the International Supreme Council ( ISC ) – Initial discussions with Bro. Newbury, Chairman, International Relations Committee, ISC with Bro. Report of the said committee during the session quote “DeMolay is also well established in both Germany and the Philippines and discussions and correspondence have been had with their leaders looking at the establishment of an a
utonomous and sovereign Supreme Council in these countries. We urge that these discussions and this correspondence be continued, looking to authorization for the establishment of such sovereign and independent Supreme Councils in these countries in the near future.”
1980: The results of this initial discussion was reported by Bro. The then Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines, MW Jolly R. Bugarin who wrote an official letter to the ISC requesting that steps be initiated to create a Supreme Council of the Philippines, which was favourably acted upon by the International Relations Committee, chaired by Bro. Welbur Bell, quote “When deemed advisable by the Masonic Leadership of the Philippines, we anticipate a granting of a charter for the establishment of an autonomous Supreme Council in that country.”
1981: 61st ISC Annual Session, April 5-6, 1981 held at Cherry Hall, New Jersey, the International Relations Committee of ISC submitted a resolution, quote “Be it resolved....recommend to the Grand Master of ISC that he authorized the Executive Officers of the Order of DeMolay of the Republic of the Philippines to take preliminary steps, in accord with the laws of the Philippines to create a Provisional Supreme Council of the order of the DeMolay to govern the affairs of the Order of DeMolay in that country.” Recommend further when appropriate steps has been taken and that such proposed Provisional Supreme Council conforms to the landmarks of the Order of DeMolay, that the Grand master to take appropriate steps to initiate the establishment of such Supreme Council.” Bro. Becker, action taken: unanimously adopted.
1982: 62nd Annual Session, ISC March 24, 1982 Reno, Nevada, the International Relations Committee recommended quote “the Provisional Supreme Council of the Philippines be empowered to elect its own set of officers and proceed with the organization of the Supreme Council as step toward its eventual independence” submitted by Chairman, Roger K. Action of ISC unanimously adopted.
1983: March 5th – General Meeting of Charter Members of the provisional Supreme Council, Philippines was held to elect its officers and the adoption of the proposed Statutes.
1983: April 19th – In reply to a letter of MW Rudyardo V. Bunda, PGM of 19 April 1983 to the 51st Grand Master of the Order of DeMolay – Resse L. Harrison a portion of the reply is hereby quoted – “On behalf of our International Supreme Council we are please to inform you that all of the recommendations on the proposed government and operation of the Philippines Provisional Supreme Council have been duly adopted and approved during the 63rd Annual Session of the International Supreme Council, held in San Antonio, Texas, United States of America, May 4, 1983. On May 4, 1983, the International Supreme Council ordained and constituted the provisional Supreme Council of the Philippines. Appropriate documentation confirming ordination and constitution will be sent to you from our 52nd Grand Master G. Lawrence Hunt and our Grand Secretary Thomas C. This documentation will evidence the ordination and constitution of the Provisional Supreme Council of the Philippines. On the evening of May 4, 1983, I installed your Grand Master elect, Bro. Ramos, Sr., in office during the Grand Master’s Banquet of the International Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay in the Philippines. As the duly installed Grand Master, Macario R. Ramos, Sr., has the authority to install the remainder of the provisional Grand Officers and to complete ordination and constitution of the Supreme Council of the Philippines.”
1984: Excerpts of the Recognition of the Autonomous Supreme Council In And For The Republic of The Philippines and Mutual Covenant of Confidence and Brotherhood quote “On May 9, 1984 does hereby create the Republic of the Philippines an autonomous Supreme council with independent and full power and authority in all matters pertaining to the government of the Order of DeMolay in the Republic of the Philippines...”
March 13, 1985: - The formal presentation of the Charter was held at the Midtown Ramada Hotel, and the installation of the 1st Grand master of the Autonomous, Sovereign and Independent Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay of the Republic of the Philippines and other Grand Line Officers, took place. May 4, 1983 is the accurate date of Institution of the Supreme Council, Order of DeMolay of the Republic of the Philippines.
