Look | Newly Installed CENRO Officer Conducts Courtesy Visit to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Strengthens Environmental Collaboration
In a significant step toward strengthening environmental governance and sustainability initiatives in the Municipality of Enrile, newly appointed Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Engr. Jimyrus M. Diego conducted a courtesy visit with Municipal Mayor Miguel B. Decena, Jr. today, June 3, 2026.
During the meeting, Engr. Diego emphasized the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) commitment to closer collaboration with local government units in advancing environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and sustainable resource management. Among the key initiatives discussed was the proposed implementation of the DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels within the municipality to bring essential DENR frontline services closer to the people.
The proposed caravan aims to improve accessibility to various DENR services, including land titling concerns, surveys, tree-cutting permit applications, chainsaw registration, water permits, Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) applications, Certificates of Non-Coverage (CNC), discharge permits, hazardous waste registration, and other environmental regulatory services. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce travel costs and processing inconvenience for residents, farmers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders requiring environmental permits and clearances.
Also discussed during the meeting was the possibility of assigning or detailing CENRO personnel to Enrile on a regular schedule, potentially once a week, to receive permit applications, provide technical assistance, and address environmental concerns directly within the municipality. This arrangement is envisioned to enhance government efficiency, improve service delivery, and strengthen coordination between the DENR and LGU Enrile.
Mayor Decena expressed the municipality’s full support for these collaborative efforts, recognizing their importance in promoting environmental stewardship while making government services more accessible to Enrileños.
Joining the Mayor during the meeting were Municipal Administrator Marife G. Toledo, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engr. Rainier John G. Tolentino, Municipal Information Officer Heidi Marie Abadu, Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Mark Michael Resuello, and Municipal Cooperative Development Officer Emilio Carag.
