Sa ilalim ng mga puno, kung saan dahan-dahang sumasayaw ang hangin at liwanag—
may mga pahinang binuklat, mga kwentong natagpuan, at mga pusong sabay-sabay na huminga.

May mga bulaklak na inuwi, parang alaala na hinahawakan.
May mga pagkain at inumin na pinagsaluhan, parang oras na ayaw pakawalan.

May mga tawang malaya, kwentuhang walang oras,
at mga sandaling tahimik—kung saan ang pahinga ay hindi lang sa katawan, kundi pati sa kaluluwa.

May mga nakatulog sa gitna ng damuhan,
may mga nakinig sa musika,
at may mga pusong unti-unting lumambot sa presensya ng isa’t isa.

Dito, ang pag-ibig ay hindi kailangang ipaliwanag—
nakikita sa tingin, naririnig sa tawa,
at nararamdaman sa bawat simpleng sandali—
para sa kaibigan, para sa sarili, para sa pamilya, para sa minamahal,

𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐍𝐈𝐂 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:

Our picnic reading was everything we hoped it would be. 🧺📖

From books being browsed, borrowed, and bought, to fresh flowers finding their way into your hands—every little detail came together beautifully. We saw pages being filled in journals, scrapbook spreads coming to life, cookies being enjoyed, and tiny treasures like pins and stickers being taken home.

But more than anything, 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧.
Conversations with friends. Laughter under the trees. Moments of rest in the middle of a busy week.

Hearing that many of you have been waiting for something like this touched us deeply—and 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐠𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝.

“𝑩𝒆𝒌𝒆̈𝒕” (Agutaynën, Palawan) — a word that embodies unity, a coming together as one.

In support of the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 (NCCA), the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱, and the 𝗞𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 (KWF), alongside Isabela State University, the 𝗜𝗦𝗨-𝗘 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, and the 𝗜𝗦𝗨 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, stand in solidarity in celebrating literature and its enduring role in shaping society.

This April, in celebration of National Literature Month, we honor not only texts but also the voices, stories, and identities that give them meaning. Literature becomes a space where truths are voiced, justice is imagined, and care for humanity and the environment is cultivated.

Hindi lang siya basta manunulat; siya ay salamin ng ating lipunan. Sa pagdiriwang ng 𝑩𝒖𝒘𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏, binibigyang-pugay natin ang rebolusyonaryong panulat ni 𝐋𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚.

Sa mundong madalas patahimikin ang boses ng babae, pinili ni Lualhati na sumigaw gamit ang tinta. Hindi siya natakot sumisid sa madidilim na kabanata ng ating kasaysayan upang hanguin ang mga kuwentong kailangang isalaysay.

"𝘼𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙚 𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙤𝙮 𝙣𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙗𝙖𝙠𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙪𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙨."

Si Lualhati ay hindi lang nagsulat para mang-aliw. Nagsulat siya para 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴-𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴. Ang kanyang mga karakter ay hindi biktima ng tadhana, kundi mga mandirigma ng realidad. Binigyan niya ng mukha ang tapang, at binigyan niya ng boses ang mga api.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁, 𝗟𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗶. Dahil sa iyo, nalaman naming ang pagiging "babae" ay hindi kahinaan—ito ay isang dakilang kapangyarihan.

For one hour, we, the ISU Dead Poets Society, stand in solidarity with the world—embracing a moment of darkness as a quiet commitment to care, awareness, and responsibility.

In the quiet, we hear the trembling of leaves long ignored, the tired breath of rivers we forgot to protect, the soft, persistent plea of a planet that has given us everything and is now asking for something in return. And in that stillness, we are reminded that even the smallest act of care, when done together, becomes something greater than ourselves.
