A Filipino writer posted a quote inspired and with direct reference to "Listen to the Birds" by a Palestinian Poet, Marwam Makhoul. The writer changed the word โwarplanesโ to โAI Hubsโ, which some found as insensitive, especially that the poem is created in the middle of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

It means that in a warzone, true peace and normal life do not exist. Because warplanes constantly fill the sky with the threat of death, the poet is forced to write political poetry just to survive and bear witness. To write "apolitical" poetryโabout nature, love, or beautyโthe violence must completely stop.
