Classes in all levels across the Province of Cebu will resume immediately following the improvement of weather conditions after Typhoon Basyang, according to Executive Order No. 9, Series of 2026, issued by Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
The order lifts the earlier class suspension imposed on February 5 under Executive Order No. 8, after recent weather bulletins and situation reports confirmed that there are no imminent threats requiring continued suspension. π¦οΈβ‘οΈβοΈ
While classes are set to resume, school authorities and local government units are directed to continue assessing localized conditions to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel.
Governor Baricuatro emphasized the importance of restoring normal school operations to ensure learning continuityβwhile remaining vigilant against any possible residual or localized weather disturbances.
The directive is issued in line with the Local Government Code of 1991 and DepEd Order No. 022, Series of 2024, which provide guidance on the resumption of classes following disaster-related suspensions.
