We would like to share our deep appreciation for YANAGI Restaurant, in their support of the SU International community and HI:SAW events! In particular, their contributions to MMSI Pageant 2025, which allowed students to celebrate their diverse cultures, while creating life-long memories. 🫂🌏

Now Yanagi is coming closer to campus, allowing more to enjoy their deliciously authentic Japanese Cuisine and restaurant experience~ 🍣

The Application Process has begun to find the next batch of HI:SAW Officers and Country Representatives for School Year 2️⃣6️⃣' - 2️⃣7️⃣'✍️🤵‍♂️❕

Higala International: Students from Around the World (HI: SAW) is the representative organization for Foreign Students at Silliman University. Instilled in our events, operations, and student government is the mission to "uphold values of mutual respect and cultural harmony through meaningful programs and interactions", while "creating opportunities for learning and collaboration between International and Filipino students". HI: SAW Officers and Country Representatives are an extension of this mission, acting as the front-facing leaders and organizers of foreign affairs, cultural exchange, and international student support efforts on campus.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS & INSTRUCTIONS

The application form will remain accesible between February 6-12th, 2026; 11:59 PM for the following positions: Secretary, Treasurer, Auditor, Public Relations Officers (2), Country Representative, and potential SUSG opportunity 🕕.

Upon fulfilling the application form, the first stage of the three part procurement process will be satisfied. Applicant's information will be vetted through the ISC Information and Services, with qualifiers invited to a follow up online interview. Final results will be emailed to each applicant by February 13th, 2026, but uncontested positions may start working before then.

Requirements for Eligibility:

1) Membership Eligibility ( Intl. Student, Foreign Exchange Student, Mixed/ Foreign Lineage, Experience Living Abroad and ability to Earnestly Represent that Culture or Country, Filipino student who is active in HI:SAW events or foreign student organizations).

2) Lingua Franca ( Basic ability to speak in the shared language of communication (English), as members have various native languages. Beyond this, Multilingualism is an advantage).

3) Confidence in Ability to Serve ( Able to complete and take responsibility for tasks that fall under your role's jurisdiciton, uphold mission of the organization, and is a positive influence/ rolemodel for others).

4) Availability and Accessibility ( Will be in attendence during majority of HI: SAW events, responds promptly online, and available to come to the International Office at least twice per week).
