The IIEE Negros Oriental Chapter proudly held its 1st Technical Seminar and General Membership Meeting last July 7, 2025, at Hotel Essencia, Dumaguete City. The event gathered more than 90 electrical practitioners from across the province, making it a truly remarkable milestone for the chapter.
The seminar was enriched by four highly valuable discussions delivered by our esteemed speakers. Engr. Erwin J. Salvador, the IIEE Regional Governor for Eastern and Central Visayas, gave an in-depth lecture on Transformers: Principles, Operations, and Maintenance, highlighting practical applications and industry best practices. Engr. Alfredo L. Arzaga Jr. shared his expertise on Underground Distribution System and Fault Locator, providing participants with a deeper understanding of system reliability and fault detection. Engr. Lelanie T. Mirambel presented an engaging session on Implementing 5S for Electrical Engineers: Enhancing Efficiency and Workplace Organization, promoting productivity and discipline in the workplace. To cap the sessions, Engr. Lyndon V. Ang discussed Power Grid Protection Relay: Philosophy, Operations, and Maintenance, emphasizing the importance of protection systems in ensuring power grid stability and reliability.
During the General Membership Meeting, the President’s Report was delivered by Engr. June Hannah Pagbonocan, highlighting the chapter’s accomplishments, future plans, and ongoing commitment to professional growth. This was followed by the Treasurer’s Report presented by Engr. Edmund Catubig, ensuring transparency and accountability to all members.
