Congratulations, Pres. Rex Amorganda Rastica!

This recognition is more than an award—it is a testament to your heart for service and your ability to bring out the best in every Rotarian.

Because of your leadership, we didn’t just meet the goal, we achieved it together as one.

Service Above Self truly lives in our club.

In celebration of Women’s Month, the Community Extension of Foundation University College of Nursing, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Dumaguete and Expressions CityMall Dumaguete, successfully organized a Women’s Health Symposium aimed at promoting awareness, empowerment, and community education on women’s health.

The symposium highlighted essential topics such as Breast Self-Examination, Pap Smear Awareness for women aged 40 and above, Family Planning, Osteoporosis Prevention, and Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS)—encouraging women to prioritize preventive care and overall well-being.

A key highlight of the program was the insightful talk of Rotarian Atty. Vic Miramon on Violence Against Women and Children (RA 9262) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), reinforcing the importance of protecting women’s rights and fostering safer, more respectful communities.

Through this initiative, we continue to uphold our commitment to Service Above Self, empowering women through knowledge, care, and community support.

The Rotary Club of Dumaguete, under the dynamic and inspiring leadership of our ever-energetic and handsome President Rex A. Rastica, successfully conducted a Meals of Love outreach program consisting of the distribution of food packs, school supplies, and slippers. This meaningful activity served the pupils, parents, and teachers of Bindoy, Negros Oriental, particularly Tagaytay Elementary School headed by its principal, Ma’am Maria Isa Villaester, and Atotes Elementary School under the guidance of Teacher-in-Charge Mr. Metchil Razonable. The smiles and gratitude of the beneficiaries truly reflected the heart of Rotary’s service to the community.

Adding depth to the outreach, we were joined by the College of Nursing Community Extension of Foundation University, spearheaded by Ma’am Monique Furbeyre, together with dedicated nursing students and staff, who conducted an educational seminar covering hygiene and proper grooming, disease prevention and treatment awareness, maternal and child health, and s*x education. Likewise, we extended our advocacy through a Drug Abuse Prevention Symposium led by the Provincial Head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Mr. Elmer Ebuna, and conducted by Ms. Nina Lyn Aloquina. This collaborative effort reflects our shared commitment to nurturing healthier, safer, and more informed communities—especially among the youth.

Another exciting milestone for the Rotary Club of Dumaguete as we warmly welcome another batch of new members into our roster—this time composed of three foreign nationals and one local Rotarian, further enriching the diversity and global fellowship of our club. Their induction reflects Rotary’s commitment to inclusivity, service above self, and the strengthening of international understanding through shared values and purposeful action.

Spearheading this meaningful event was our very own ever-active President Rex Amorganda Rastica, whose leadership continues to inspire growth and unity within the club. The new members were formally charged by the equally dynamic PAG Nes Bambi Navarro, whose words and guidance underscored the responsibilities, ideals, and noble mission of Rotary. With this new group of Rotarians, we look forward to greater collaboration, fresh perspectives, and more impactful service to our community and beyond.

We traveled to Canlaon City, one of the areas severely devastated by Typhoon Tino, to extend relief and comfort to our disheartened brothers and sisters who were directly affected by the calamity. In this time of great loss and uncertainty for many families, our goal was to bring not only essential goods but also hope, compassion, and the assurance that they are not alone—that Rotary stands with them.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our fellow Rotarians and Rotary Anns who generously contributed to making this mission possible. Special thanks to RA Flor Pancho for donating drinking water through the Social Security System, Rtn. Atty. Jong Benedian for allowing us to use the van for transportation through WRKPOD, PP Rolando Obañiana for providing the truck used to transport the goods through LGU Valencia and Rtn Adrian Seniel for donating 50 bottles of 5-gallon drinking water Your kindness and willingness to serve truly embody the spirit of Rotary.

💙 ARK: Act of Random Kindness

A new humanitarian program of the Rotary Club of Dumaguete

In our continuing mission to serve humanity through kindness and compassion, the Rotary Club of Dumaguete launched its new initiative — ARK (Act of Random Kindness).

Recently, we received a heartfelt message from Mr. Anthony Rallustian, who reached out to our page seeking financial help. Together with our kind-hearted President Rex Amorganda Rastica and other members of the Rotary Club of Dumaguete, we personally visited Anthony to see his condition — and what we witnessed deeply touched our hearts.

Anthony has been bedridden for 14 long years. Despite his pain and struggles, he continues to hope and pray that one day, he will walk again — not just for himself, but so he can finally take care of his aging mother, who has lovingly cared for him all these years.

During our visit, we brought food packs, a sack of rice, medicines, and basic supplies. But what Anthony truly needs now is a year-long physical therapy program to regain strength in his legs and give him a fighting chance to stand and walk again.

This is where you can make a real difference.
Your donation — no matter how big or small — can bring hope, healing, and the chance for Anthony to rebuild his life and care for his mother.

If your heart is moved by his story, we invite you to be part of this act of kindness. Together, we can help Anthony take his first steps toward a new beginning. 💛

Last night was another meaningful evening for the Rotary Club of Dumaguete as we welcomed two new members into our Rotary family — Rtn. Isagani B. Catacutan, Jr., and Rtn. Love T. Villareal.

The induction ceremony was made even more special with PAG Jun Gonzalez serving as the Charging Officer, inspiring our new Rotarians with words of wisdom and encouragement about living the true spirit of “Service Above Self.”

Our dynamic Club President, Rtn. Rex Amorganda Rastica, administered the oath of membership, officially ushering Rtn. Isagani and Rtn. Love into the fold of committed men and women who embody compassion, fellowship, and service to humanity.

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Dumaguete, Rtn. Isagani and Rtn. Love! Together, let us continue to make a difference — one project, one community, and one act of kindness at a time. 💙💛

We have just concluded our delivery of relief supplies for our brothers and sisters in Bogo City, Cebu, who were directly affected by the recent earthquake. Though the journey took almost an entire day—with hours of travel and heavy traffic among countless vehicles also filled with compassion and hope to help—we never once felt weary.

Each mile we traveled was a reminder of why we serve. The smiles, the gratitude, and the resilience of those we met reminded us that service is not about convenience—it’s about compassion.

Despite the tiredness, we pressed on because in Rotary, we care. In Rotary, we put others above self. ❤️

To all our fellow Rotarians, partners, generous donors, and volunteers who joined this mission—thank you for proving that the true measure of humanity is not how much we have, but how much we give. Together, we turn empathy into action, and service into hope.

02/10/2025

The Rotary Club of Dumaguete will be extending a helping hand to our brothers and sisters in Bogo City, who have recently been struck by the devastating earthquake. Many families are suffering, and we aim to bring comfort through donations and food packs to those who need it most.

This coming Sunday, October 5, 2025, we will be personally distributing these relief goods to affected individuals and families.

We also open our doors to anyone with a kind and generous heart who wishes to contribute—whether in cash, goods, or in any form of support. Together, we can make a greater impact.

📞 For those who wish to help or donate, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
🙏 Your generosity, no matter how big or small, will go a long way in helping rebuild hope for those who are suffering.

During our General Meeting, we had a fruitful discussion on how we can further grow our membership and expand the services we offer to our communities. Our commitment to Service Above Self continues to inspire us as we explore new ways to make a greater impact.

We are also delighted to welcome our soon-to-be new members, Mam Love and Sir Jun, who will be officially inducted in our next meeting. We are excited for the fresh energy and passion they will bring to our club family. Together, we can achieve more!
