On July 27, 2025, the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Dumaguete City Chapter joyfully celebrated its anniversary at Manuel L. Quezon Park with a vibrant gathering that echoed the energy, creativity, and unity of Dumaguete’s young people. The event came alive with traditional Larong Pinoy and an inspiring showcase of youth talents, reflecting the strength, culture, and dreams of the next generation.

This meaningful celebration was made possible through the unwavering support of the City Government of Dumaguete, led by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO). Special thanks to the Dumaguete Youth Volunteers Network (DYVN), whose dedication and volunteer spirit helped turn this event into a true success.

More than just a celebration, it was a reminder of the vital role the youth play in building inclusive, resilient, and empowered communities. It reignited a shared vision of hope, purpose, and progress for the youth sector of Dumaguete City. Here's to the voices, hearts, and hands shaping our tomorrow—the youth of Dumaguete. 💛

🏕️ 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙤𝙥𝙚 👣

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐 | As the sun had yet to rise, the campers of the 𝗣𝗬𝗔𝗣 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 woke up at 4:30 AM, beginning the day with a heartfelt morning fellowship led by one of our youth officers — a quiet but powerful moment that reminded us to start each day with purpose. 🌅

We danced through our early Zumba session, shaking off sleep and welcoming energy. The highlight came next: our team-building challenge, with five stations filled with trust-building and strategic games like Path to Trust, Pasadoble Dice, and Lava Walk. Each completed task earned puzzle pieces, and by the end, every team completed their puzzle — proof that when we move as one, we achieve more. 🧩

Then came the laughter at the beach, a well-deserved dip into joy before breakfast. After packing up, we gathered to receive our certificates — simple pieces of paper, but heavy with memories, courage, and growth. By 9:45 AM, we were already on the road home, carrying not just our bags, but a renewed sense of who we are and who we’re becoming.

This day taught us that leadership doesn’t require a title or a spotlight just a willing heart. Trust takes time. Teamwork turns challenges into achievements. And even the smallest acts of service can leave a lasting impact. These lessons will live far beyond this camp.

To the CSWDO thank you for making all of this possible and for believing in the power of the youth.

To the ever-reliable Local Youth Development Office Dumaguete City, thank you for always guiding us and standing behind youth development with all your heart. 🏕️ 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙃𝙤𝙥𝙚 👬

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟏 | The 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗣𝗬𝗔𝗣) - 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗲 has officially reopened its 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, marking a vibrant return in 2025. This much-anticipated gathering brought together youth campers who carried not only their personal belongings but also their boundless enthusiasm, talents and life stories. These participants are scholars supported by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Office, representing over 40 youth from various barangays in Dumaguete City. This year’s encampment aims to demonstrate a powerful truth—that the youth embody our highest hope for the future. This gathering is not merely an event, but a movement toward building character, strengthening community ties and igniting a lifelong sense of purpose. The air was filled with hope, unity and the promise of friendships that transcend boundaries. 💚🤍

Held on June 25–26, 2025, at 𝗔𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗶, 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴, 𝗔𝗺𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹, the Federation Youth Encampment unfolded with powerful and purpose-driven activities. The first day featured meaningful talks and interactive sessions aimed at guiding campers toward deeper self-awareness and clarity in their individual journeys. Topics such as Knowing Your Potential, Keys to Self-Improvement, and Empowering Change gave students valuable insights into self-growth and personal leadership. These sessions inspired the youth to reflect on their goals, reminding them that they do not need to chase the spotlight of others. Instead, they are encouraged to embrace their unique paths and cultivate inner growth. 💪🏻

The success of the PYAP Federation Youth Encampment 2025 would not have been possible without the dedication of the 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲. Their team, who tirelessly journeyed and stayed alongside the campers for two days, ensured that every activity was impactful, every moment purposeful. Special thanks are also extended to the 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲, whose steadfast support, ranging from transportation logistics to organizing lively socials night programs, enriched the experience for all participants. 🗣️

It is with deep sadness that we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Erik John Placido, a dedicated member of PYAP Negros Oriental from PYAP Canlaon City Chapter. 🕊️

Erik tragically passed away this morning following a car accident in Tayasan. His sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him.

As an active and passionate member of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP), Erik exemplified leadership, service, and compassion. He gave his time and energy to uplift others and was a source of inspiration to his fellow youth.

We honor Erik’s legacy and the positive impact he made in our organization and community. May we carry forward the light he shared with us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Erik. You will never be forgotten.

The 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝗔𝘀𝗮 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 – 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗲 proudly announces its presence in the Dumaguetnon youth community as it officially joins the 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗟𝗬𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. Talented PYAP athletes from various sports participated in the opening ceremony of the event, showcasing the association's commitment to youth development and excellence in sports. Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Dumaguete, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘀🏆, is determined to clinch a back-to-back victory this year. Summerlympics 2025 is proudly organized by the City Government of Dumaguete through the Local Youth Development Office Dumaguete City and Local Youth Development Council, in partnership with the Dumaguete City Sports and Youth Development Office, Negros Oriental Federation JPIA, and the Red Cross Youth - Negros Oriental.

Spearheaded by the City Government of Dumaguete through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), this training was more than just a workshop — it was a step toward creating a generation of empathetic, empowered, and purpose-driven leaders.

Through heartfelt conversations and transformative activities, we were reminded that leadership starts with understanding, and change begins with compassion. Together, we continue to uplift one another and build a future where no youth is left behind.
