Empowering minds, embracing diversity, and championing inclusivity.

Creating a more inclusive society begins with understanding. As part of NORSU’s commitment to promoting gender awareness and equality, the 3rd Year students of the College of Nursing, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences (CNPAHS) participated in the Gender Sensitivity Symposium held at the NORSU Sports and Cultural Complex.

The symposium featured Assistant Prof. Rea Mae A. Cadeliña, RGC, as the resource speaker, who delivered an insightful discussion on gender sensitivity, equality, inclusivity, and the importance of recognizing and respecting the diverse identities and experiences of every individual. Through meaningful conversations and shared perspectives, participants were encouraged to challenge stereotypes, cultivate empathy, and become advocates for safe, respectful, and equitable communities.

The symposium was attended by Prof. Riza Mae T. Abellanosa, RN, MSN, GAD College Coordinator of CNPAHS, whose continued support reflects the college’s commitment to promoting Gender and Development initiatives and fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and inclusivity.

More than an academic engagement, the symposium served as a reminder that healthcare extends beyond clinical competence, it is rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and equitable care for all. As future healthcare professionals, the students carry forward not only knowledge but also the responsibility to uphold these values in every patient interaction and within the communities they will one day serve.

Together, let us continue creating spaces where every voice is heard, every identity is respected, and everyone is empowered to thrive.
