We, the Gen, meaning ‘new GENeration,’ are the youth branch of the Focolare Movement, an ecclesiastical Catholic movement present all over the wor

ld in more than 180 countries. Inspired by our foundress Chiara Lubich and Jesus’ prayer, that ‘all may be one Jn. 17:21,’ we strive to aim for unity in our homes, schools, workplaces and communities in hopes to achieve universal brotherhood and establish dialogue with our brothers and sisters of other faiths and religions.

" This Word of Life is an invitation to be grateful for the mercy God has for us all personally. Rejoicing and celebrating together present us with an image of unity, where there is no opposition between ‘righteous’ and ‘sinners,’ but we share in each other’s joy.

Chiara Lubich writes, ‘It is an invitation to understand the heart of God and to believe in his love. We are inclined to calculate and measure and sometimes we believe that even God’s love may grow weary… but God’s logic is not like ours. God is always waiting for us: indeed, we bring him immense joy every time – even though it be an infinite number of times that we return to him.’ [ii]

The officials of the SINAG Hospital Volunteers Foundation, Inc. paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Provincial Administrator, Atty. Arthur Fran Tolcidas, after they donated ten (10) wheelchairs to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH). The visit provided an opportunity to reaffirm goodwill, strengthen partnerships, and explore avenues of collaboration in support of the province’s ongoing efforts to enhance the delivery of community services for the people of Negros Oriental.

When we presented ourselves as a religious group (Focolare) and that Sinag is under the umbrella of the Focolare Movement, he was surprised. He probably did not expect it because maybe he thought Sinag was a civic organization. He shared to us right away that he was once a seminarian for two years, but left because he felt a different calling. As a lawyer now and seating as the provincial admin, he acknowledged that his work is guided by the formation that he had during his seminary days.

It was a candid and fruitful moment with him.🙏🏾✨
