Provincial Cooperative Development Council of Negros Oriental Holds Reorientation and Planning Workshop and General Assembly

The Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC) of Negros Oriental successfully convened the Reorientation and Planning Workshop and General Assembly on April 30, 2024, at the Plenary Hall of the Negros Oriental Convention Center. The event served as a platform for cooperative leaders in the province to discuss important matters, plan for the future, and elect new officers.

Program Highlights
The event commenced with a prayer, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, the Negros Oriental Hymn, and the Cooperative Pledge. Welcome remarks were delivered to set the tone for the assembly by Mr. Ramon Buenavista CDS II, CDA of Negros Oriental.

An inspirational message was then presented to motivate the participants by Hon. Shaquille Teves, ABC President as representative of Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbaria, then the PCDC Chairperson's Report by Dr. Profetiza S. Lim which provided an overview of the council's accomplishments and goals. Followed by a crucial presentation of the PCDC's Budget for 2024. This transparency allowed members to understand the council's financial standing and plan for resource allocation.

A significant portion of the assembly was dedicated to a comprehensive Orientation on CDA MC 2022 – 03. This likely focused on updates or new regulations set forth by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), the government body tasked with overseeing cooperatives in the Philippines.

Following the orientation, the Reorientation and Planning Workshop Proper took center stage. This workshop provided a venue for members to collaboratively discuss strategies and plans for the future of cooperatives in Negros Oriental.

The assembly then proceeded with the Officer Election, where new leaders were chosen to steer the PCDC for the coming term. The elected officers were then proclaimed, and the event concluded with closing remarks.

This Reorientation and Planning Workshop and General Assembly served as a valuable opportunity for the PCDC of Negros Oriental to strengthen cooperation, discuss important updates, and plan strategically for the betterment of the cooperative sector in the province.

🎓✨ A huge shoutout to everyone who made the ‘Training/Workshop Series on Annual Tax Incentives Report (ATIR) and Annual Benefits Report (ABR) of Cooperatives’ a resounding success! Held at the majestic Plenary Hall, Convention Center in Dumaguete City, this event was a melting pot of knowledge and expertise.

A special thanks to our incredible resource speakers from the FIRD Secretariat - Ms. Isabel Diaz, Mr. Allan Leo Paran, Atty. Ravienne Jeru Lim, and Atty. Michael Ricaza, for their invaluable insights and guidance.

Deep appreciation to the Provincial Cooperative Development Council Board of Directors and the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental for their unwavering support. And, of course, our heartfelt gratitude goes to our primary cooperatives and the 130 dedicated participants from across Negros Oriental. Special Moments at the Training/Workshop Series

We’re currently experiencing an enriching journey at the ‘Annual Tax Incentives Report (ATIR) And Annual Benefits Report (ABR) of Cooperatives’, taking place in the Plenary Hall, Convention Center, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The opening program was beautifully inaugurated with welcoming remarks from the esteemed Dr. Profetiza S. Lim. We were also graced with an inspiring message by Atty. Arthur Fran Tolcidas, representing our Governor, Hon. Manuel L. Sagarbaria. Special thanks to Mr. Ramon Buenavista for presenting the Rationale.

A heartfelt thank you to our knowledgeable resource speakers from the FIRD Secretariat - Ms. Isabel Diaz, Mr. Allan Leo Paran, Atty. Ravienne Jeru Lim, and Atty. Michael Ricaza for their insightful contributions.

The Cooperative Development Authority together with the Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC of Negros Oriental, invite you to "Training/Workshop: Annual Tax Incentives Report (ATIR) and Annual Benefits Report (ABR) of Cooperatives" on November 21, 2023 at the Negros Oriental Convention Center, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City. The activity starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM.

This activity is in response to the need for the information dissemination on the Department of Finance-Department of Trade and Industry Joint Administrative Order No. 001-2023 on the Annual Tax Incentive Report and Annual Benefits Report of Cooperatives.

The Fiscal Incentives Review Board (FIRB) of the Department of Finance will be the Resource Speakers during the activity. Please refer to the specific instructions for the conduct of the activity:

1. Cooperatives send their bookkeepers, accountants, finance managers or the ones in charge of keeping their books of accounts and/or filing their tax returns since the preparation of the ATIR and ABR requires technical knowledge;

2. All participants should bring their own laptop and accessories (e.g. chargers, extension cords, and power banks, among others) as they will be using Microsoft Excel during the simulation; and

3. All participants will be given copies of sample financial statements, Income Tax Returns (ITs), Value Added Tax (VAT) returns, Social Audit Report, and other documents, as prepared by the FIRB secretariat. These will be used during the simulation proper.
