‼️POSTING FOR PUBLIC AWARENESS‼️

The public is urged to be cautious of this person. She claimed to be "Arlyn Tascon" and allegedly identified herself as a Person with Disability having a hearing impairment, yet she cannot present a valid identification card. According to her, she's from Calamba Laguna and does not have permanent residence in Negros Oriental. She is roaming around Dumaguete City bringing a letter (see post) asking for financial help and a photocopied ID of one of our Persons with Disability member. The ID she's using has been confiscated by authority, yet we are still asking the public to be cautious of her modus as she is still able to roam around the City.

March 12, 2025 | Wednesday | Free consultation for Children with Disabilities

"Children with disabilities are like butterflies with broken wings. They are as beautiful as other children, but they need a little help to spread their wings. We need to embrace them the way they are blooming - even if it is not the garden we imagined."

In coordination with our PWD Barangay Organization leaders and Barangay Kagawad Focal Persons, Dumaguete City Person with Disability Center under the City Social Welfare and Development Office were able to refer seven (7) children with different disabilities to a free assessment and consultation in partnership with Little Children of the Philippines and NORFIL Foundation. Our kids together with their parent/s were accompanied by our PWD Focal Person, Mrs. Marecon C. Vorbeck and our PWD anchor social worker Ms. Patricia Monique Beye along with our PWD staff.

Dumaguete City Persons with Disability Center in coordination with the City Government of Dumaguete and the City Social Welfare and Development Office joins the nation and the National Council on Disability Affairs in celebrating Women with Disabilities Day 2025, bearing the theme "Kababaihang May Kapansanan: Katuwang sa Pag-angat sa Bagong Pilipinas!"

Per Proclamation No. 744, every last Monday of March is Women with Disabilities Day.

We remain steadfast in advocating for and promoting the rights of women with disabilities.

Strong women with disabilities gathered together for a consultation meeting to discussed about the activities of the association in celebration of Women with Disability on March 31, 2024. Exciting activity for the association was indeed on its way. Kudos to our set of officers!

Together in action are our energetic Barangay Kagawad Focal Person for PWD Programs from different Barangays. Also present is our PWD Focal Person, Mrs. Marecon C. Together with our PWD Focal Person, Mrs. Marecon C. Vorbeck and their area social worker, Mrs. Kristine Fernandez along with their Barangay Kagawad focal person on PWD programs Hon.
