It was still dark, but our Rotarians were already up and about last Sunday, July 26, as we joined the Nutri-Fit Walk around Dumaguete City, led by President Jan Ashley Morelos. A healthy way to start the day!

Rotary in Action: Brigada Eskwela and Community Service at Sitio Managba, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental

Service Above Self was once again brought to life as the Rotary Club of Dumaguete South, together with the Rotary Club of Dumaguete, Rotary Club of Dumaguete North, Rotary Club of Dumaguete East, Rotary Satellite Club of Dumaguete South Golden Negros, and Rotary Satellite Club of Dumaguete North Northern Lights, successfully conducted a Brigada Eskwela and Community Medical Mission.

Our journey began at 5:30 AM, as all participating Rotarians gathered at Cansi Diversion Road, Sibulan before traveling together through Barangay Bagtik, Mabinay on our way to the activity site. Despite the cloudy skies, we were blessed with favorable weather throughout the trip, allowing everyone to travel safely and carry out the day’s activities without interruption.

The outreach was filled with meaningful service as volunteers enthusiastically participated in school painting, medical consultations, blood pressure monitoring, ear-patch acupuncture, and tree planting, where various tree species were planted to promote environmental sustainability.

The Presidents of the participating Rotary Clubs expressed their joy, excitement, and gratitude for the opportunity to work together in serving the community. The strong fellowship, unity, and commitment demonstrated by every Rotarian truly reflected Rotary’s enduring motto, “Service Above Self.”

Adding warmth to the day was the heartfelt hospitality of the teachers, barangay officials, and community volunteers, who prepared a delicious meal featuring native chicken, fresh vegetables, and other local delicacies. Their generosity and kindness made everyone feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated.

This successful outreach reminds us that when Rotary clubs unite with a common purpose, we can create a lasting impact in the lives of others.

A pleasant Wednesday morning to our Rotary family!

As I preside over my final Regular Weekly Meeting as President of the Rotary Club of Dumaguete South, my heart is filled with gratitude for an incredible Rotary Year 2025–2026. Thank you to every Rotarian for your unwavering support, dedication, and commitment to Service Above Self. Together, we strengthened our fellowship, served our communities, and created lasting impact.

As we prepare for Rotary Year 2026–2027, let us extend our full support and warm congratulations to our incoming President, Jan Ashley Morelos, and the new Board of Directors as they lead our club into another year of meaningful service.

Members are kindly reminded to settle their Semestral Dues to keep our club in good standing with Rotary International.

Please join us for our 49th Turnover and Induction Ceremony on July 4, 2026, as we celebrate the accomplishments of the outgoing leadership and formally install our new officers. We are honored to welcome Antonio B. Florendo as our Guest Speaker and Inducting Officer.

Looking ahead, we are excited for the Medical Mission on July 24, 2026, in Barangay Tubigon, Sibulan, under the leadership of President Ashley, and we also celebrate the launch of Safe NIR Dial 911, an initiative that strengthens emergency response and public safety across the region.

Thank you once again for allowing me the privilege of serving as your President. Together, let us continue to serve with passion, strengthen our fellowship, and create a lasting impact in our communities.

This video is a heartfelt tribute to an extraordinary year of service, leadership, and fellowship under the stewardship of RCDS President Niño Marfren Joseph E. “Niño” Viking. Guided by the Rotary theme “Unite for Good,” our club accomplished meaningful projects, strengthened friendships, and made a positive impact in the communities we serve.

As one Rotary year comes to a close, we proudly pass the torch to President Jan Ashley E. Morelos, who will lead the Rotary Club of Dumaguete South with the inspiring theme “Create Lasting Impact.” May this new chapter build upon the strong foundation we have established, bringing even greater opportunities to serve, inspire, and transform lives.

Today, the Rotary Club of Dumaguete South joined the Rotary Club of Dumaguete and the Rotary Club of Dumaguete North in celebrating the Rotary New Year by giving educational toys to day care centers in barangay Cadawinonan, Dumaguete City. It was a good start for Pres Ashley Morelos’ presidency, as we were joined by the members of our freshly-minted RCDS Satellite Club chaired by Soci Ami Viking. The children said they were excited to go to their Day Care Centers because of the new educational toys!
