𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥-𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘

The Barangay Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget Review and Evaluation Team of the City Government of Dumaguete continued its review and evaluation of the 2027 GAD Plans and Budgets on September 22, 2026, at the LYDO Conference Room.

For today’s session, the team reviewed the GAD Plans and Budgets of Barangays Poblacion 6, Poblacion 7, Poblacion 8, and Looc to ensure that their proposed programs, projects, and activities are gender-responsive and aligned with existing GAD policies and guidelines.

The review team, composed of representatives from the City Budget Office, City Planning and Development Office, Gender and Development Office, Local Youth Development Office, and City Health Office, continues to work closely with barangays in promoting inclusive planning and effective implementation of GAD initiatives.

Together, we continue to build a more gender-responsive, inclusive, and empowered Dumaguete City.

𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡

The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), together with co-organizing youth organizations, conducted a coordination meeting on September 21, 2026, in preparation for the upcoming People’s Week Celebration this December.

The meeting focused on early planning and identifying activities that will highlight the talents, creativity, unity, and contributions of the youth sector to Dumaguete City.

Participating organizations included Dumaguete Youth Leaders for Development, Dumaguete Youth Volunteers Network, Dumaguetnon Youth Theatre Artist, YWAM Student Movement–NORSU Student Chapter, Society of Student Communicators, and Sidlak sa Buglas Youth–Kilos Ko Youth Negros Oriental Chapter.

The group identified three major activities: Character Portrayal of Sectoral Groups, Photojournalism, and a Songwriting Competition, with the winning song to serve as the official theme song for the People’s Week Celebration and mass demonstrations.

The Barangay Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget Review and Evaluation Team of the City Government of Dumaguete convened on September 21, 2026, at the LYDO Conference Room to review and evaluate the GAD Plans and Budgets of Barangay Junob, Barangay Batinguel, and Barangay Poblacion 5.

The review team, composed of representatives from the City Budget Office, City Planning and Development Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Gender and Development Office, Local Youth Development Office, and City Health Office, worked together to ensure that the proposed programs, projects, and activities of the barangays are responsive to gender concerns and aligned with applicable GAD policies and guidelines.

Through collaborative review and evaluation, the City Government continues to support barangays in strengthening gender-responsive planning, budgeting, and implementation toward a more inclusive and empowered Dumaguete City.

𝗟𝗬𝗗𝗖 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀

The Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) of Dumaguete City, serving its 2026–2029 term, successfully conducted its regular meeting on September 19, 2026, at the Dumaguete City Session Hall.

The meeting was initially presided over by Hon. Miguel Lorenzo N. Aseniero, LYDC Chairperson, before it was formally turned over to LYDC Co-Vice Chairperson Mx. Prince Wilkens Abordo of Gaba-an Youth Lead in Dumaguete. The Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) Secretariat provided technical and administrative assistance throughout the session.

The meeting served as a venue to discuss and finalize preparations for key youth-related initiatives and activities, including the Dumaguete Youth Congress 2026 scheduled for October 17, the 3rd Dumaguete Youth Achievers Awards, People’s Week Celebration 2026, Seminar on the Magna Carta for Women, Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 Evaluation, Public Accountability and the Impeachment Process Forum, and other relevant matters.

Through continued coordination and collaboration, the LYDC remains committed to strengthening meaningful youth participation and supporting the effective implementation of programs and initiatives that promote leadership, empowerment, and active citizenship among the youth of Dumaguete City.

A coordination meeting between the City Sectoral Desks Office and the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) was held today, September 18, 2026, at the LYDO Conference Room, as part of the preparations for the upcoming People’s Week Celebration 2026.

The meeting focused on finalizing the line-up of activities, ensuring proper coordination and alignment of plans among the participating offices for a meaningful and engaging celebration.

Together, we continue to work toward a well-coordinated, inclusive, and people-centered People’s Week 2026.

A coordination meeting was conducted today, September 18, 2026, bringing together partner agencies and stakeholders in preparation for two upcoming community events: the Asian College Dagan 2026 on October 4, 2026, and the 5th Breast Cancer Awareness Fun Run on October 18, 2026.

The meeting gathered representatives from the City Sports and Youth Development Office, Traffic Management Office, Philippine National Police (PNP), RECON Network 7, City Health Office, Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Asian College to discuss the necessary preparations and ensure the safety, security, and smooth implementation of both activities.

Key matters discussed included traffic and route management, crowd control, medical and emergency response, public safety measures, logistical requirements, coordination mechanisms, and other arrangements essential to the successful conduct of the events.

More than just preparing for two community activities, the meeting underscored the value of strong inter-agency collaboration and shared responsibility in creating safe and meaningful spaces that promote health, fitness, wellness, advocacy, and active community participation.

Together, let us move toward a healthier, safer, and more active Dumaguete!

The work behind the recognition begins with collaboration. ✨

Yesterday, September 16, 2026, youth organizations gathered for a coordination meeting in preparation for the 3rd Dumaguete Youth Achievers Awards (DYAA), discussing plans, roles, and ways to work together in recognizing young individuals and organizations making meaningful contributions to the community.

Through this collaborative initiative, the City Government of Dumaguete, through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC), continues to provide spaces for youth organizations to take part in shaping programs and initiatives that respond to the aspirations and needs of Dumaguete’s young people.

Joining the preparation as prospective co-organizers are the Information Technology Society – NORSU Student Chapter, Values Education Society – NORSU Student Chapter, Society of Student Communicators, Dumaguete Youth Leaders for Development, Psychology Society – NORSU Student Chapter, Philippine Association of Geothermal Engineering Students – NORSU Student Chapter, and Junior Philippine Pharmacists Association.

Together, we move closer to another meaningful celebration of youth excellence, service, and contribution. 💙
