⛈️ JCI Dolores Typhoon Preparedness Guide: Stay Ahead of the Storm! 🌬️

Bagyong Uwan is coming! Being prepared is your best defense against the destructive effects of a typhoon. Follow these steps when a storm is forecasted:

1. Secure Your Home & Property 🏠
* Check and Repair: Inspect your roof, windows, and doors for damage. Securely fasten anything loose that could become airborne.
* Trim Trees: Cut down dead or weak branches that could fall onto your house or power lines.
* Clear Gutters: Make sure gutters and downspouts are clear of debris to ensure proper drainage and prevent flooding.
* Move Valuables: Elevate furniture and important appliances, or move them to higher floors to protect them from potential flooding.

2. Prepare Your Emergency Kit 🎒
Have a Go Bag ready for immediate evacuation or survival inside your home. It should contain:
✅Water & Food | Bottled water (1 gallon per person/day), non-perishable food (canned goods, energy bars)
✅Light & Power | Flashlight with extra batteries, power bank, portable radio
✅Health & Safety | First-aid kit, maintenance medicines (at least a week's supply), whistle
✅Documents & Cash | Waterproof container for important documents (IDs, insurance papers, birth certificates) and emergency cash
✅Personal | Toiletries, blanket, extra clothing, face masks

3. Stay Informed & Plan 🗺️
* Monitor Official News: Regularly listen to a portable radio or check reliable sources (PAGASA, LGU announcements) for the latest weather bulletins and advisories.
* Know Your Evacuation Plan: Identify the nearest safe evacuation center and practice the route with your family.
* Communicate: Establish an emergency contact person outside your area whom all family members can call or text to check in.
* Fuel Up: Ensure your vehicle has a full tank of gas in case of power outages or immediate need to evacuate.

4. Electrical Safety ⚡
* Charge Devices: Fully charge your cellphones, laptops, and power banks while the electricity is still reliable.
* Identify Main Switch: Locate and know how to turn off the main circuit breaker (electrical supply) and the main water valve in case of damage or flooding.
