It’s the start of a new peace mission!

On March 28, 2026, GYAO proudly participated in the ceremonial grant signing for sub-recipients of the Peace Care Pathways Programme held at Privato Hotel, Quezon City.

As one of Teach Peace Build Peace Movement sub-recipients, GYAO will implement the Peace Care Pathways Programme across eleven (11) municipalities in Lanao del Sur, including its existing peace partner schools and madrasahs.

In this renewed peace journey, GYAO will also integrate a livelihood component to promote a holistic approach and ensure sustainability, alongside peace education.

Peace Mission Update!

On March 22-29, 2026, GYAO was proud to participate in the Sub- Recipients' Inception and Alignment Workshop and Capacity Building Trainings held at Privato Hotel, Quezon City.

The six-day program began with an introduction that built a shared understanding of its purpose, structure, and impact, helped participants align roles and responsibilities within a broader theory of change. It then moved into financial management, where participants developed skills in budgeting, procurement, documentation, and reporting while practicing compliance through simulations. The program continued with a focus on effective implementation systems, including tools for role clarity, workflow mapping, and communication strategies such as transactional analysis. Participants are next equipped with competencies in ethical communication, documentation, and the use of AI tools to enhance reporting and data analysis responsibly. The fifth day emphasized designing engaging learning experiences through practical frameworks and hands-on activities. Finally, the program concluded with self-alignment and team development, fostering self-awareness, stronger collaboration, and a shared vision, culminating in a formal commitment through the Sub-Recipient Grant Agreement signing.

The said activity equipped the SRs with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to effectively manage and implement PeaceCare Pathways Programme, ensure financial accountability and compliance, communicate and document their work responsibly, design engaging learning experiences, and strengthen both personal leadership and team collaboration toward achieving shared goals.

Flashback Vibes during our Peace Heroes Formation Programme:

Through the Expanded Peace Heroes Formation Programme, 320 parents and 320 children were reached, inspired, and transformed into peace heroes—proving that peace begins at home.

Implemented by GYAO in partnership with Teach Peace Build Peace Movement and funded by Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund, this journey brought together communities from Angoyao National High School, Lake Lanao NHS, Adiong Memorial NHS, Butig NHS, Pagayawan NHS, Madrasah Nowr Al-Okhowa Al-Islamiy, Bayabao Islamic Institute, and Madrasah Ittihadiya Al-Islamiyya.

The program went beyond peace education—it nurtured behavioral change and strengthened the bond between parents and children.

Our deepest gratitude to our peace partners for their active participation and for embracing the challenge of building a culture of peace.

1 Project Associate
• Assist the Project Manager in project implementation
• Support the Administrative & Finance Officer in clerical work
• Supervise Facilitators during peace missions

6 Facilitators
• Facilitate on-the-ground activities
• Submit activity and photo documentation on time
• Suggest areas for program improvement
