Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga del Norte Strengthens Holy Week Safety Efforts at Linabo Peak

DIPOLOG CITY | Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga del Norte Chapter ang Holy Week 2026 Operations noong Abril 2–3, 2026 sa 3003 Steps to Linabo Peak sa Barangay Lugdungan, Dipolog City.

Humigit-kumulang 50 Staff at Volunteers ang na-deploy, kabilang na ang Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Welfare Desk, at Red Cross Youth Councils (RCY), upang magbigay ng paunang lunas, tumugon sa minor injuries, at magsagawa ng vital signs monitoring para sa mga deboto at hikers. Isinagawa ang operasyon katuwang ang iba’t ibang ahensiya ng Siyudad ng Dipolog at Probinsya ng Zamboanga del Norte upang matiyak ang kaayusan at kaligtasan sa lugar.

Patuloy pa rin ang Philippine Red Cross Zamboanga del Norte Chapter sa pagbibigay ng serbisyong makatao para sa ligtas at makabuluhang paggunita ng Semana Santa.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

To all participants who filled out the volunteer form and expressed their willingness to become Red Cross volunteers, we are pleased to inform you that the Red Cross Orientation will be held on November 8, 2025 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM, at the Plenary Hall, Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Exhibition Center, Estaka, Dipolog City (near the swimming pool).

This orientation will help you learn more about the Red Cross mission, principles, and volunteer opportunities as part of your journey to becoming an official Red Cross volunteer.

In times of disaster, preparedness saves lives.

This July, we at the Philippine Red Cross – Zamboanga del Norte Chapter proudly stand with the nation as we observe National Disaster Resilience Month 2025 with the theme "KUMIKILOS: Kayang Umaksyon ng Mamamayan na Sabuhay ang Kahandaan ng Bawat Isa Para Maging Ligtas sa Oras ng Sakuna."

This isn’t just a campaign. It’s a call to action.
It reminds us that each of us has the power and responsibility to prepare and respond, not only for ourselves, but for our communities.

As Red Cross 143 volunteers, staff, and youth members, we continue to strengthen our efforts in promoting disaster readiness through community education. We believe in building a culture of readiness and resilience long before the disaster strikes.

Last June 13, 2024, a heartbreaking tragedy occurred in Barangay Tulic, Argao, Cebu, claiming the life of Mr. J. Campoy, a dedicated responder from PDRRMO Zamboanga del Norte. While on duty and aboard an ambulance, they met a tragic accident that cut short a life devoted to saving others. As Mr. Campoy was insured under the Premiere Gold Category of the Philippine Red Cross MAAB (Membership Accident Assistance Benefits) insurance program, his bereaved family claimed a total amount of ₱𝟐𝟎𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 (Two hundred five thousand pesos) as part of the insurance benefits.

This painful reminder of how unpredictable life can be highlights the importance of securing protection through the Philippine Red Cross MAAB Insurance program. By becoming a member, you ensure that you and your loved ones are safeguarded against unforeseen tragedies.
