Today, the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. National Board of Trustees (NBOT) is conducting its Second Quarter Meeting through an online meeting via Zoom.

The meeting serves as a venue for officers and trustees to discuss important organizational matters, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming activities of the Association. Included in the discussions are the initial plans and proposed themes for National Book Week (NBW) 2026, President’s First Quarter Updates, Vice President Cluster Accomplishment Reports, Committee Updates, and preparations for PLAI Congress 2026.

Updates on professional development and external affairs, membership initiatives, partnerships and collaborations, financial matters, and policy and governance concerns are likewise being presented and discussed.

Through this quarterly gathering, the NBOT continues to strengthen collaboration and leadership in advancing the library and information profession in the country.

As we mark the culmination of National Women’s Month 2026, we proudly honor the remarkable women leaders of the PLAI Zamboanga Peninsula Region Librarians Council (ZPRLC) who have shaped its enduring legacy since its establishment in 2006.

In celebration of the Council’s 20th Founding Anniversary, guided by the theme “Dalawampung Taon ng Serbisyong Makabuluhan: Honoring the Past, Empowering the Future of Transformative Librarianship,” this tribute recognizes the invaluable contributions of past and present women officers whose leadership, dedication, and vision have significantly advanced librarianship in Region IX.

Their collective efforts have not only strengthened professional practice and collaboration but have also cultivated a culture of excellence, service, and innovation within the library community. As we reflect on two decades of meaningful service, we acknowledge that the progress and achievements of the Council today stand as a testament to their unwavering commitment.

𝑯𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒄𝒚.
