Today, as the Philippine flag waves with honor, let it remind us that our independence was never freely given. It was earned through the bravery and unwavering patriotism of countless heroes who sacrificed their lives so that our nation could stand free.

Before our flag soared proudly against the sky, another nation’s banner stood in its place. Before we called this land truly our own, generations of Filipinos endured oppression, sacrificed their lives, and fought with unwavering courage so that one day, our colors would rise in freedom.
