𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧 - 𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗖!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. - 𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧 - 𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿) really came through and proved that even first-timers can eat and leave no crumbs, as they brought home multiple wins during the 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 - 𝗪𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 with the theme LAMBU: Leveraging and Advancing Mindanao's Bounty by Upskilling the Future Food Technologists held on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟳–𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗻, 𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗼𝗻.

From DSSC to new places, new faces, and unforgettable moments—our PAFT Summit journey was truly one for the books hosted by Philippine Association of Food Technologists - Sigma Chapter.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 marked the beginning of an exciting experience—filled with joy, energy, and pride as we marched with our DSSC PAFT banner, met fellow participants, enjoyed delicious food, and learned from inspiring speakers in the field of Food Technology. The night came alive with 𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧-𝗦𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘁, where talents shined despite challenges, followed by music that brought everyone together.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 was when the competitive spirit reached its peak. From 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁, every participant gave their all. There were moments of pressure, nerves, and even tears—but above all, there was passion, teamwork, and pride.

𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧-𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮 𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗧-𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗮!

The Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc. - DSSC Chapter (PAFT - DSSC Chapter) had its tour at the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼, specifically, at their Food Technology-related facilities.

The students and faculty of PAFT-DSSC were welcomed by the significant personnel of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀. Headed by the College Dean, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗨𝗿𝗱𝘂𝗷𝗮 𝗚. 𝗡𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗿, together with the FT Department Chairperson, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗧. 𝗣𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲. The tour was also guided with accommodating FT faculties: 𝗗𝗿. 𝗜𝘃𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿 𝗕. 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗮, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗘. 𝗟𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗧. 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗼. With the cheerful and very informative personnel as well, FT Laboratory Assistant, 𝘀𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗧. 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻.

The said tour started with the 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗙𝗦 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, where various laboratory rooms were shown and its importance in Food Technology students' laboratory activities. For instance, the microbiology room, for sensory evaluation, chemical testing, and other food processing activities.

The next facility is the 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿, where various offices and huge laboratory were shown. The facility consists of numerous machinery that serve as an important medium for Food Tech's food processing and innovation activities.

Lastly, the quick tour in 𝗗𝗔-𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 at USM, that showed us the importance of taking care of Carabaos and its classifications. The students also have the opportunity to buy their own high-quality products, such as yogurt, pastillas, and other milk products.

Overall, the journey was fun and full of learning. Truly, food technology is not just "luto-luto" lang but a profession with lots of considerations, sacrifices, innovations, explorations, and many more for the community's food security!

Our sincere thanks as well to the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 for their warm accommodation and for giving us the opportunity to explore the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀.

This just proves that, a malambuong Food Tech has a strong PAFTmilya foundations! PAFTdayun sa PAFTlambu ug PAFThiusa, FTs!
