[𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞] 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 | 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

The 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 continued into the afternoon session, where participants actively immersed themselves in various cultural and creative activities. Building on the energy from the morning session, they explored traditional practices that highlighted the beauty of music, dance, and craftsmanship.

One of the highlights was the 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 session, led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐁. 𝐎𝐠𝐚𝐥. Participants had the opportunity to play the Agong, feeling the deep, resonant beats that have long been a part of cultural expressions. They also learned and performed traditional dances, moving in harmony with the rhythmic sound of the instrument.

Another enriching activity was 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, facilitated by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐁. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨. Participants learned the art of fabric arrangement, a skill often used in formal and cultural gatherings. Through this workshop, they developed an appreciation for the creativity and precision required in table skirting.

Earlier in the morning, 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐝-𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 was also conducted under the guidance of 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐞𝐥𝐳𝐢𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚. Participants crafted intricate beadwork, showcasing patience and attention to detail while appreciating the cultural significance of this traditional craft.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participants from different municipalities, including 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐝𝐚, 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐩, 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠, 𝐊𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐚𝐲, 𝐇𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐲, 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐨𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳, and 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨. Your enthusiasm and dedication made this event even more meaningful.

The Community Culture Workshop has officially commenced its morning session, bringing to life the vibrant traditions of the Bagobo-Tagabawa and Blaan communities! This initiative is a celebration of heritage, aiming to preserve and strengthen cultural identity through immersive activities such as bead-making, cultural dances, and talent-sharing workshops.

Participants engaged in hands-on learning, crafting intricate beadwork that holds deep cultural significance. The rhythmic beats of traditional dances filled the air, showcasing the rich narratives embedded in each movement. Meanwhile, the talent-sharing workshop provided a platform for cultural expressions, highlighting the artistry and skills passed down through generations.

And this is just the beginning! Stay tuned as we continue this journey in the afternoon session, where more enriching experiences await.

The Goodlife Youth Movement Organization, Inc.-UMDC officers, alongside the President of IP Organization-UMDC Cleo Diane D. Bustamante, IPMR Padada Josh Salutan Gabay, and IPMR Sta. Cruz, Brgy. Zone III Mark Lester Allawan Reponte, came together on February 13, 2025, for a dynamic planning session! With a shared vision and unstoppable energy, we laid the groundwork for an impactful Community Workshop this March.

The GGC Board Room buzzed with excitement as ideas flowed and plans took shape—this is just the beginning! More meetings are on the way as we collaborate with municipalities and communities across Davao del Sur.

The University of Mindanao Digos College, along with its dedicated student delegates, 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐃. 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 from Indigenous People Student Organization, 𝐀𝐥𝐣𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐬 - CLASSES, 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐲 - Honor Society, 𝐅𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐥 𝐀ñ𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐳𝐚 - President of CDSG, and 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐲𝐥 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐨 - GMITS President, proudly participated in the 𝗨𝗠 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗨𝗡𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀' 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 held on January 17, 2025, at the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦, Matina Campus.

Fostering a new generation of change makers, the 𝗨𝗠 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗨𝗡 𝗦𝗗𝗚 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀' 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 empowers students to lead impactful initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), inspiring action for a sustainable future.
