ON LENS | GCCFI CELEBRATES MOTHERโ€™S DAY AT HAVEN OF HOPE ORPHANAGE

On May 9, 2026 the Goodlife Community Cares Foundation, Inc. delivered hygiene kits to the Haven of Hope Orphanage Philippines as part of its three year Project WASH. A small program was also held to celebrate the mothers of Haven of Hope for all their selfless service for the children. Also present was the Goodlife Youth Movement Organization, Inc. and Youth for Peace Movement - Davao del Sur who prepared fun filled games for the kids. All thanks to our main sponsor who made this celebration possible, Sir Albert Hilario for always supporting Havenโ€™s cause.

The activity served not only as a continuation of GCCFIโ€™s commitment to promoting proper hygiene and sanitation among vulnerable communities, but also as a meaningful opportunity to recognize the invaluable role of mothers and caregivers in shaping the lives of the children under their care. Through simple acts of appreciation, fellowship, and service, the celebration fostered an atmosphere of love, gratitude, and unity among the volunteers, staff, and beneficiaries. GCCFI remains steadfast in its mission of extending compassionate service and creating programs that uplift both the physical well-being and emotional welfare of communities in need.

ON LENS | GCCFI JOINS JOINT COMMUNITY OUTREACH AT SITIO LATIL

On May 1, 2026 the Goodlife Community Cares Foundation, Inc. answered the call for unity of the Alpha "Achievers" Company- 39IB, together with the Youth for Peace Movement - Davao del Sur, and Bansalan Coop. The volunteers along with the Local Government Unit of Kiblawan trekked 4km to reach Sitio Latil, Brgy. Abnate, Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

Upon arrival, the team immediately began preparing and cooking spaghetti onsite, allowing volunteers to actively engage with community members while ensuring that freshly cooked meals were served to the beneficiaries, particularly the children.

In addition to the feeding activity, and in celebration of his birthday, one of our volunteers, Cristian John Teorima gave out donated essential items including clothing, toys, books, hygiene kits, and slippers, which he gathered for this event, said items were warmly received by the community.

Simultaneously, the Youth for Peace Movement โ€“ Davao del Sur conducted their field research activities for PEDALS 1, gathering relevant data to support their ongoing community development initiatives, and donated Solar Lamps for the Sitio. At the same time, the Local Government Unit of Kiblawan carried out a needs assessment to identify priority concerns within the sitio and distributed corn fertilizer to assist local farmers in strengthening their agricultural productivity.

The foundation also printed and distributed photographs to the community members fron the first literacy program of YFPM DavSur. This simple yet meaningful gesture brought visible joy to the residents, as many expressed appreciation for having tangible keepsakes capturing moments of unity and shared service.

Overall, the activity demonstrated the value of collaboration among government units, civic organizations, and volunteer groups in reaching geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities. Despite the physical demands of the four-kilometer trek and the challenges of conducting activities in a remote setting, the collective efforts of all participating groups reflected a shared commitment to service, compassion, and community empowerment.

The Goodlife Community Cares Foundation Inc. successfully conducted its Medical Mission and Operation Tuli for the year 2026 last April 26, 2026, at Barangay New, Opon, Davao del Sur.

The activity was facilitated by the Health and Education sectors of the Foundation, under the leadership and coordination of the National Executives, as part of its major annual outreach programs. The initiative aimed to deliver essential healthcare services to the community, particularly to underserved residents.

The event was made possible through a partnership with Criados volunteer doctors from Davao Medical Foundation Inc., who served as the Foundationโ€™s medical partners for this activity.

The Operation Tuli and general medical check-up services accommodated nearly 30 children for circumcision and approximately 150 pediatric, adult, and senior patients for medical consultations. The Foundation also provided free medicines to beneficiaries, ensuring that patients received immediate treatment support.

Special appreciation is extended to MMJS Pharmacy and Medical Supplies for generously donating one box of medicines, which significantly contributed to the success of the mission. The Foundation also extends its sincere gratitude to the Board of Trustees and to the Chairperson of the Health Sector of Goodlife Community Cares Foundation Inc., Job Fernandez, for being one of the key contributors to the successful implementation of the event.

Furthermore, the Foundation expresses its appreciation to all volunteers who served and facilitated the activity, to the 39th Infantry "Smash'Em" Battalion for providing free haircut services, and to the PEPSI for providing free drinks for Doctors, teachers of Barangay New Opon Elementary School, barangay officials, and barangay health workers for their invaluable support in coordinating and facilitating the activity.
