The enthusiasm and excitement of farmers and their family painting for the first time, let alone painting with the masters - Kublai Millan and his team of artists – is one of the greatest joys we have experienced so far up here in our mountain community.

With smiles, laughter, and wide-open eyes, we could hear them saying “Imagine us? I mean us! Kublai would come to teach us and paint with us?”

With guidance, inside the egg-shaped circle represents the painter’s dreams and aspirations, and outside the circle are pastel drawings of all members of the community as an expression of their support to make the person’s dreams come true.

On these boards, you can see reflected the endless process of knowing oneself, the need to express what the heart desires and dreams of, and the love for nature, for people, for the community, and for God.

When you look at the board, the person painting feels understood on many levels in the most intimate and sincere way possible through art.

Thank you Kublai and your team, for sharing your talent and giving our farmers and their family a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to paint with you.

We are looking forward to your next visit this weekend when our community gets to paint for the first time on canvas for the world to see.

Our Story

Hope for the Nations Philippines Foundation, Inc. is a faith-based non-governmental organization (NGO) operating under the umbrella of Hope for the Nations, a global NGO based in Canada that is working in 25 countries.

At HFTN-Phils, we want to see transformational development in poor rural areas and we are committed to get a poor rural community out of poverty and help rural poor families attain a middle income class status within five years.

We are dedicated to create and implement solutions that are innovative, sustainable and scalable, with the goal of ending rural poverty through fostering collaborative partnerships. We seek to provide impactful and holistic community development programs to empower ‘children at risk’ and help them become ‘children of change’ so that they and their families can break the cycle of poverty and have hope for the future.

We are committed to provide innovative approaches which directly contribute towards achieving the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and holistically transform impoverished communities by offering superior quality education, mentorship and leadership development to the marginalized; promoting lifelong learning opportunities and skills training especially to out-of-school youth; and ensuring environmental sustainability thereby, alleviating extreme poverty and hunger.
