This October 2026, we celebrate Local Government Month and highlight the significance of Local Government Units (LGUs) in ensuring responsive and decentralized governance in our communities. Guided by Republic Act No. 7160, or the Local Government Code of 1991, the Parliament recognizes the importance of local autonomy in delivering public services and addressing the needs of each community.

This month calls on us to recognize the dedication and commitment of our local government leaders to upholding good governance and serving the public. Looking forward to stronger communities in the coming years, PPOL urges all public servants to serve with integrity, fairness, and a genuine commitment to the people.
