𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 📢

The Redlines Forum ended, but the work has only begun. We thank all our participants, partners, and contributors who helped unpack red-tagging and stood for truth and justice despite its realities.

We drew the line today, and now let's keep holding it. Let us all continue to engage, protect, and discern.

See you all next time beyond the red lines!

There are stories we write, and risks we quietly carry.

In REDLINES, we look into the realities of red-tagging, and how it shapes the experiences of student journalists, how it lingers, how it limits, and how it challenges the very act of speaking up.

𝙒𝙊𝙇𝙁𝘿𝙀𝙉 𝙎𝙀𝙎𝙎𝙄𝙊𝙉: 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙍𝙚𝙙 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨? 🐾

Press freedom in the Philippines faces serious threats from red-tagging and the shrinking of civic spaces. These challenges put our communicators at risk and weaken public access to information.

Through this project, we aim to orient student journalists with the constitutional foundations of their rights.

In a collective effort to care for our common home, officers of the Humanities and Letters Student Executive Council (HUMLETSEC) and student volunteers from the Business & Management (B&M) Cluster participated in a tree planting activity under Ecoteneo's Adopt-A-River Program. 🌱

Traveling to Barangay Wines, Baguio District, Davao City, the volunteers dedicated their time to planting seedlings along the riverbanks to prevent soil erosion, protect local biodiversity, and strengthen the camaraderie between the two clusters.

The initiative was made truly meaningful by the guidance of Bantay Bukid volunteers, inspiring local farmers who selflessly protect our watersheds, rehabilitate riverbanks, and monitor environmental incidents despite lacking regular compensation. 🌎

Thank you to all the student leaders, volunteers, and incredible Bantay Bukid guides whose dedication serves as a true testament to our shared commitment to environmental stewardship.

Padayon, environmental advocates, because that is the ! 💥
