The University of Southeastern Philippines โ€“ Malabog Extension Campus (USeP MEC) successfully conducted a comprehensive school-to-school campaign across the senior high schools in Paquibato District, Davao City, led by Campus Coordinator Mr. Rolen A. Bocog and supported by dedicated faculty and staff. The primary goal of this initiative was to bridge the information gap among students and address the challenges posed by limited internet connectivity, ensuring that all eligible students were well-informed about the various academic and extracurricular opportunities available within their community. This campaign was designed to be inclusive and accessible, providing vital information directly to students who might otherwise be underserved or unaware of the programs they could benefit from.

Throughout the campaign, USeP MEC reached out to multiple senior high schools, including Lorenzo Latawan National High School, Paradise Embac National High School, Panaga National High School, Tapak National High School, Paquibato National High School, Sumimao National High School, Malabog National High School, Binowang National High School, Mapula National High School, and V. Bontilao Integrated School. The effort involved direct engagement with students and school officials to disseminate pertinent information about USeP MEC's offerings, scholarship opportunities, and academic programs, thereby fostering stronger linkages between the University and the community. This initiative underscores USeP MECโ€™s commitment to promoting inclusive education and ensuring that every student, regardless of connectivity limitations, has access to essential educational resources and opportunities for higher learning.

[๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—”๐——] The University of Southeastern Philippines Tagum-Mabini Campus (USeP TMC) marked its Local Founding Anniversary Celebration on December 15, 2025, at the Physical Education and Cultural Center, Tagum Unit, as part of the Universityโ€™s 47th Founding Anniversary, a day that honored the past, celebrated the present, and looked boldly toward the future.

Hosted by the College of Teacher Education and Technology (CTET), the celebration gathered the USeP TMC community in a shared moment of reflection and fellowship. Present during the event were USeP TMC Chancellor Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva; USeP TMC Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences Dr. Cesar A. Limbaga Jr.; CTET Dean Dr. Eleanor T. Guden; School of Medicine Dean Dr. Victoria R. Patiรฑo-Guillano; alongside non-teaching personnel from the Tagum and Mabini Units and faculty members from various academic units.

The celebration opened with a colorful parade followed by a fellowship mass, setting a reverent yet festive tone that reflected the Universityโ€™s strong sense of community and shared purpose.

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Villanueva highlighted the collective spirit that has shaped USeP through the years. She emphasized that the University was built by individuals who believed deeply in the transformative power of education, a belief that continues to thrive in every classroom, office, laboratory, and field. She reminded the community that excellence is not achieved alone, but strengthened through collaboration, camaraderie and shared commitment. She also traced the history of USeP and the Tagum-Mabini Campus, reflecting on the challenges overcame and triumphs achieved that molded the institution into what it is today.

The program continued with energetic dance presentations from the different delivery units, followed by Part 1 of the games, drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd. A unity lunch further reinforced the spirit of togetherness that defined the day.

In the afternoon, Part 2 of the games brought renewed excitement, capped by a raffle draw for Contract of Service and Job Order personnel. The campus community then gathered virtually via Zoom for the official declaration of the opening of the 47th Founding Anniversary week-long Celebration and the message of USeP President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr.

In his address, President Gabales expressed heartfelt gratitude to both teaching and non-teaching personnel for their invaluable contributions to the Universityโ€™s journey. He reaffirmed USePโ€™s vision of becoming a premier research university in ASEAN and beyond. He also unveiled teasers for the new USeP website, which is set for an official launch in 2026, along with the soft launch of the USeP CARES Volunteerism Program. These initiatives reflect USePโ€™s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and service as core elements of its future.

After the President's message, Christmas giveaways were distributed to all Contract of Service and Job Order personnel at TMC. This gesture, made possible through the generosity of plantilla personnel who shared their blessings, highlighted the culture of compassion and solidarity within the campus.

The celebration concluded with closing remarks given by Dr. Limbaga, who reminded everyone that USeP stands not only as a center of learning, but also a beacon of innovation and service. He emphasized that the University is defined not merely by its buildings or achievements, but by a community bound together by shared values, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to shaping future generations with integrity and purpose.

As the day came to an end, the Local Founding Anniversary represented more than just a celebration; it was a reaffirmation of our identity. With a strong foundation in history, bolstered by unity, and guided by a shared vision, the USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus continues to progress with gratitude, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in service to the Filipino people.

[๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž] Interfaith rites, student performances open USePโ€™s 47th anniversary

A spirit of gratitude, reflection, and shared purpose marked the opening of the 47th USeP Founding Anniversary week-long celebration on December 15, 2025, at the University Gymnasium and Cultural Center, USeP Obrero Campus.

Read here: https://www.usep.edu.ph/blog/2025/12/16/interfaith-rites-student-performances-open-useps-47th-anniversary/

The program began with an interfaith thanksgiving service that highlighted unity in diversity across beliefs. Prayers, scripture readings, and reflections were led by Ata Indigenous Cultural Community leader Tumanuron Boyson Anib Jr. of Paquibato, Davao City; Dr. John Stephen G. Curada, Director of Heartworks Learning Center Inc.; and Rev. Fr. Cecilio Canico, resident priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Their reflections centered on gratitude, compassion, and shared responsibility as guiding values of the academic community.

Following the thanksgiving service, the program featured a grand production showcasing the artistic excellence of student performers who have represented the University in national and international competitions. The opening performance of Marahuyo, brought together a classical guitar and bandurria ensemble. This was followed by performances from the Harmonia Polifonica Chorale; the Sahaya Dance Collective presenting cultural, folk, contemporary, and modern dances; the USeP Dance Sports Team, and the USeP Jaguars Pep Squad.

The formal opening of the Foundation Week Celebration was declared in between the performances, paving the way for the highlight of the program, the message of University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr.

In his address, Dr. Gabales reflected on the theme โ€œUSeP@47: Building Dreams. Elevating Excellence. Empowering Communities,โ€ describing the University as a tahanan, a home that comforts, supports, and gives space for hope to grow. He emphasized that for many members of the community, the institution has become a place where struggles are met with understanding and where aspirations are given direction.

Dr. Gabales spoke of the University as a home that builds dreams for Indigenous Peoples students, learners with disabilities, persons deprived of liberty, and students navigating their academic journeys. He likewise recognized the vital role of faculty members and non-teaching personnel whose dedication sustains academic quality, institutional credibility, and daily operations.

Two milestones were introduced by President Gabales. The first was the soft launch of the new University website, designed to provide a more accessible, intuitive, and transparent digital platform for academic resources and public services, with full rollout scheduled in early 2026. The second was the introduction of the USeP CARES Volunteerism Program, an institutional framework aimed at embedding volunteerism into instruction, research, extension, and production, grounded in Filipino values of free will, service to others, and service beyond material reward. Full implementation of the program is set to begin in 2026.

Dr. Gabales concluded his message by expressing gratitude to all offices, committees, and personnel who contributed to the preparation of the Foundation Celebration, particularly the College of Business Administration and the Public Affairs Division. He called on the University community to continue nurturing the institution as a shared home built on care, commitment, and collective responsibility.

The Foundation Day Celebration was attended by teaching and non-teaching personnel from the Obrero Campus, with participants from Mintal Campus, Tagum-Mabini Campus, Tagum Unit, Mabini Unit, and Malabog Extension Campus joining via Zoom, alongside students from across the University.
