DYESABEL PHILIPPINES is a SEC-registered NGO that co-creates inclusive marine conservation initiatives for the People, Planet, and the Philippines with and for the youth and indigenous communities. has 5 key advocacies: (1) Education and Training, (2) Sustainable Livelihood, (3) Research and Innovation, (4) Good Governance, and (5) Culture and Arts. First transformation was last June 5, 2018 durin

g the with the theme , when the founder saw the Bajaus diving into the sea full of plastics. He initiated a simple project called "Project Dyesable" where it aims to give DYES (Php 10) to the kids in exchange for them to pick up the trashes at the sea for them to be ABLE to serve the environment. Their gesture as well symbolizes like a mermaid name “Dyesabel,” a Filipino mermaid in a known television series in the Philippines. Second transformation was when we realized that incentivizing kids to pick up trashes is a band-aid solution to a systemic problem. This was the reason why "Dyesable" became "Dyesabel", a Bajau mermaid who became a human to advocate and communicate the state of our ocean to the people. We heightened our educational campaigns to coastal communities through storytelling for kids and a dialogue-fora with their parents/elders to compliment the learning with each other. Given that environmental challenges are a systemic concern, we decided to co-create the organization as a Bajau-and-youth-led organization to allow our sea indigenous peoples "Sama Dilaut" or Bajaus and the youth to participate and lead in mainstreaming inclusivity in environmental conservation efforts.

Congratulations to all Seaperheroes, more importantly to the Dyesabel Philippines - Tagum led by President Reymark Paimalan Nesperos and Vice-President Louigi Anthony Tinapay.

Young people from Dyesabel Philippines, Inc. are taking action for cleaner, safer oceans.🌊

Through partnership initiatives like Project Katubo, led by JayDee Crisostomo with Dyesabel's innovations and volunteers, the Seaperheroes use storytelling to help children understand how everyday choices shape the ocean’s future — inspiring care, responsibility, and hope.

Last March 21, 2026, Dyesabel Philippines successfully held its 8th General Assembly via Zoom, bringing together passionate changemakers committed to protecting our oceans and empowering coastal communities.

This year marked a new chapter as we proudly introduced our Advisory Council, Board of Trustees, and Executive Committee -- Passionate leaders who will continue to steer our mission forward with purpose and heart. We also celebrated a key milestone with the ratification of our Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), strengthening the foundation of our organization and growing movement.

Rooted in our advocacies, we remain steadfast in championing a ridge-to-reef approach, recognizing that what happens in our uplands flows into our seas. From climate action to coastal and marine biodiversity protection, we always stand for the People, Planet and the Philippines. 💙🧜🏻‍♀️

Dyesabel is growing deeper 🧜‍♀️🧜🧜‍♂️

For five years, Sama-Sama Para sa Sama-Bajau: Dyesabel Philippines’ General Assembly has served as our flagship program — training and bringing together our SEAtizens and SEAperheroes. This year's General Assembly will take place on March 21, 2026 (1:00-5:00PM) via Zoom.

As a coastal-, IP-, and youth-led organization rooted in Mindanao, we continue to co-create data-based and inclusive marine conservation initiatives and policies for the people, planet, and the Philippines by decentralizing systems, democratizing science, and digitalizing SEAtizenship.

Beyond planning and reporting, 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗟𝗔𝗢𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 reminded us that unity is built through shared laughter, trust, and collaboration. Camp Laot 2026’s team-building sessions were anchored on the S4E (Sports for the Environment) framework — using movement, teamwork, and play to strengthen leadership and environmental values at the same time. 🤝🌱
