On August 9, 2025, the Junior Drug Busters (JDB), in collaboration with the PDEA XI – Seaport Interdiction Unit – Sasa (SIU-SASA), conducted an Anti-Drug Abuse Seminar as part of a program organized by the Sanguniang Kabataan of Barangay Ilang. Following the seminar, both JDB and PDEA convened a meeting at the Barangay Ilang Session Hall to discuss and plan future initiatives.

The meeting was attended by the following JDB officers: Chairman Peveniel San Pedro, Vice Chairperson Rameah Homwad, Secretary Mary Xerxes Canete, Public Information Officer John Client V. Teves, Treasurer Rowena Lapar, and Blue Ribbon representative Jimboy Daway. They were joined by two senior PDEA XI – SIU-SASA agents, who participated in the coordination and planning of upcoming anti-drug initiatives.

With the strong leadership and support of 𝐏𝐃𝐄𝐀-𝟏𝟏 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐲, the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐗𝐈 – 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐒𝐈𝐔-𝐒𝐚𝐬𝐚) successfully conducted a 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 at 𝐒𝐞𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐳𝐞, 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠, 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲.

This activity forms part of the agency’s continuing effort to strengthen 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 at the grassroots level. The initiative was held in partnership with the 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠, led by 𝐒𝐊 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐛, and with the active participation of the 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐉𝐃𝐁) 𝐉𝐌𝐂𝐅𝐈 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞, headed by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐨 and 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 by 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐥.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐓. 𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐲 for championing youth involvement and multi-sectoral collaboration in the campaign for a drug-free nation. His guidance continues to inspire united action across government agencies, youth councils, and local communities.

This joint undertaking reflects the importance of shared responsibility in promoting public awareness, protecting future generations, and upholding the integrity of our communities.

On July 12, 2025, the 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 (JDB) 𝐉𝐌𝐂𝐅𝐈 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫, under the leadership of Chairperson 𝐏𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐨, conducted a 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 during the 𝐊𝐊 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 in Barangay Ilang, Davao City.

This initiative was made possible through the partnership with SK Ilang, coordinated by 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐬, JDB Public Information Officer and SK Secretary of Barangay Ilang. The chapter extends its sincere appreciation to SK Chairperson 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐛 for her full support and trust in the advocacy of youth-led education and prevention efforts.

JDB speakers 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐨 and 𝐉𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 shared timely insights on drug prevention and youth empowerment, encouraging their fellow young people to stay informed and make responsible choices.

The presence and participation of JDB members during the activity reflected the chapter’s continued commitment to youth engagement, public service, and nation-building.

Together, with strong partnerships and united youth action, we move closer to building a safer, drug-free community, para sa kabataan, para sa bayan! 🤚🏼🇵🇭

Halos apat na dekada na ang lumipas mula nang ipakita ng sambayanang Pilipino ang lakas ng pagkakaisa sa EDSA upang ipaglaban ang demokrasya at kalayaan. Ngunit ang tunay na diwa ng People Power ay hindi natatapos sa kasaysayan. Patuloy itong nabubuhay sa ating mga adhikain at pagkilos para sa isang mas ligtas at makatarungang lipunan.

Kami, ang Junior Drug Buster, ay buong puso at paninindigang nakikiisa sa diwa ng EDSA People Power. Tulad ng ipinaglaban noon, patuloy naming isinusulong ang isang Pilipinas na malaya, hindi lamang sa pang-aapi, kundi pati na rin sa salot ng iligal na droga.

Ang laban kontra droga ay hindi lamang laban ng iilan kundi ng bawat Pilipino na nagnanais ng isang mas maunlad at maayos na kinabukasan. Ang diwa ng EDSA ay pagkakaisa, paninindigan, at malasakit para sa kapwa. Gamitin natin ang aral ng kasaysayan upang ipaglaban hindi lamang ang kalayaan kundi pati na rin ang kinabukasan ng ating bayan.

Kami ang Junior Drug Buster ay naninindigan para sa isang bansa na malaya sa takot, pang-aabuso, at iligal na droga. Sama-sama nating ipaglaban ang mas maliwanag na bukas. ✋🏽🇵🇭
