On Friday, April 10, 2026, the Human Empowerment and Advocacy Response Team (HEART) hosted "Kababae Mong Tao! โ Intergenerational Conversations on Feminism" at Ateneo de Davao University. The event kicked off with a welcoming period and preliminaries to set the stage for the day's meaningful discussions. Following an ecumenical prayer and the national anthem, Atty. Meong Cabarde, the Director of APILA and HEART, delivered the opening remarks to officially open the forum.
The program then moved into a series of three focused forums exploring the "feminist timeline". First, Ma'am Mae Fe Ancheta Templa led a conversation on the first generation of feminists, honoring the foundational struggles and the paths paved by early advocates. After a brief snack break, the second forum featured Ma'am Lorna B. Mandin, who discussed how second-generation advocates have sustained the movement and adapted human rights advocacy within government and public sectors. The final forum focused on the third generation, during which Ms. Jhoanna Grace Cayanan from the Young Feminists Collective Mindanao highlighted modern challenges and the unique role of Gen-Z in a digital world.
The event concluded with a deeply emotional Reflection Circle, where the day's energy was brought together through collective dialogue. During this time, a victim-survivor bravely shared her testimony, adding a layer of lived experience and healing to the conversation. Following these reflections, POWER - AdDU President Rian Dormitorio, on behalf of Ms. Mary Donna Grace Cuenca, the AdDU GAD Committee Chairperson, delivered the closing remarks.
This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of our project partners, particularly the Young Feminists Collective Mindanao, POWER AdDU, Sandiwang Perlas Pilipinas, the Ateneo de Davao University Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, and the ADDU UCEAC.
