On January 20, 2026, the HCDC Peer Facilitators Club proudly took part in the SAMA-SAMA 2026 General Assembly at HCDC Gymnasium from 8:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M. as the Holy Cross of Davao College officially marked the kick-off of the 2nd Semester, actively assisting students in maintaining the peace and order throughout the program. Their presence helped create a conducive environment where students could fully engage with the important and meaningful topics discussed.
The General Assembly also served as an introduction to the various offices and personnel of Holy Cross of Davao College and their vital roles, including the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Admission and Scholarship Office, Prefect of Discipline (POD), and the Office of Guidance and Counseling (OGC). The counselors and student assistants of the OGC were formally introduced by Mary Kris Opinion, MIC, RGC, RPm, who emphasized the importance of mental health and encouraged students to freely visit the Guidance Office whenever they have concerns or inquiries.
Moreover, the Prefect of Discipline highlighted the schoolโs rules and regulations, reminding everyone of their responsibility to be disciplined and values-driven Holy Crossians. Adding to the meaningful discussions, Guest Speaker Atty. Marlou Jade Eliab raised awareness on R.A. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act of 2019 (Bawal Bastos Law), clearly explaining the different forms of gender-based sexual harassment in public spaces, online platforms, workplaces, and educational institutions.
The event concluded on a high note with a fun activity and inspiring closing remarks from SSG President Jovannie Momo, leaving students motivated as they embark on the new semesterโtogether, informed, and empowered.
