On March 27, 2026, Yamog Renewable Energy Development Group, Inc. convened the first-ever CSO Roundtable Conversation at Apo View Hotel, Davao City, themed "Exploring Common Pathways Towards Clean Energy-Driven Development in Mindanao." ๐ŸŒฑโšก

Ten civil society organizations joined the table, representing indigenous peoples, the academe, faith communities, environmental advocacy, disaster risk reduction, youth, health, and the arts to explore how civil society can contribute to expanding clean and sustainable energy access across Mindanao.

For over 30 years, Yamog has been working alongside communities to bring renewable energy to at least 5,000 households across 164 villages in Mindanao through community-owned micro-hydropower systems ๐Ÿ’งโš™๏ธ๐Ÿก. This roundtable opens a new chapter in building meaningful partnerships with CSOs that can help extend that reach and deepen community impact ๐Ÿค

The day was filled with rich exchanges, shared learnings, and a collective commitment to move forward together ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ“˜โœจ

As the meeting came to a close after a successful day of learning and sharing, everyone joined hands to continue the conversations and pave the way for more meaningful cooperation on renewable energy in the future ๐Ÿคฒโšก๐ŸŒ

Productive use of renewable energy (PURE).

A remote Manobo community (Sitio Lubas, Magpet, North Cotabato) has been operating their run-of-river micro hydropower facility since 2018, efficiently providing local households round-the-clock electricity . Now they are using this renewable energy asset to drive a corn mill+corn sheller+coffee grinder, all managed by KATAWA (Katuusan to Tammuwanan Women Association).
