CELEBRATING THE HEARTS THAT SERVE

Today, as we celebrate the Feast of St. John Vianney, patron saint of priests, the Foundation of Balay Pasilungan, Inc. joyfully honors and thanks all our priests of the Society of Mary – District of Asia for their faithful service and unwavering commitment to God’s people.

Their lives remind us that true greatness is found in humble service, compassionate leadership, and a heart dedicated to others. Through their ministry, countless lives—especially the children and young people of Balay Pasilungan—have experienced God’s love, hope, and mercy.

On this Priest’s Day, we invite everyone to join us in praying for our priests, that they may continue to be strengthened in their mission of bringing light to those in need and hope to the next generation.

May Mary, our Good Mother, protect them always, and may St. John Vianney continue to inspire them with wisdom, courage, and joy.

What does nutrition mean for a child? At Balay Pasilungan, it is more than healthy food on the table—it is love, care, belonging, and the opportunity to dream again.

Together with our dedicated staff, generous volunteers and supportive visitors, we celebrated the culmination of Nutrition Month 2026 with joy, laughter, and gratitude. Through shared meals and meaningful activities, we were reminded that every act of kindness nourishes not only the body but also the heart.

Behind every smile is a community that believes that no child should grow up hungry, neglected, or without hope. When we invest in the health and well-being of children today, we help shape a brighter future for tomorrow.

LOVE KNOWS NO DISTANCE.

Our Balay Pasilungan family extends its heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful young volunteers from Australia, Anna Ramsay and Alana Leahy, for sharing a month of love, joy, and friendship with the boys of Balay Pasilungan and the girls of Balay Banaag Center.

For the third time, Anna and Alana chose to return—not because they had to, but because they had formed genuine bonds with our children. Through simple moments of playing, listening, laughing, learning, and simply being present, they reminded every child that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Your kindness, compassion, and joyful spirit have left lasting memories in the hearts of our children and staff. Thank you for becoming part of our family and for showing that even small acts of love can make a lifelong difference.

We are also deeply grateful to the Marist Sisters for making this beautiful connection possible. Together, we continue to build a community where vulnerable children experience hope, belonging, healing, and love.

Anna and Alana, thank you for walking this journey with us once again. Balay Pasilungan and Balay Banaag will always be your home in the Philippines. We look forward to welcoming you back.

WORLD DAY FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THE ELDERLY

Today, on the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, the Foundation of Balay Pasilungan joins the Church in celebrating the priceless gift of our lolos and lolas. Their love, wisdom, faith, and quiet sacrifices continue to shape families, communities, and future generations.

This year’s theme, “I will never forget you,” is a reminder that no older person should ever feel forgotten or alone. Every visit, every conversation, every smile, and every act of kindness tells them: You are loved. You are not forgotten.

As Pope Leo XIV reminds us, “The elderly can be life teachers.” May we take time today to visit our grandparents, reach out to an elderly neighbor, or simply express our gratitude to those whose lives have become a blessing to ours.

At Balay Pasilungan, we believe that caring for one another means embracing every generation with love, dignity, and hope.

WHAT IF A CHILD COULD HELP SAVE A LIFE?

It starts with learning. It starts with preparation.

As we commemorate National Disaster Resilience Month, we are proud to share this meaningful activity where the children and staff of the Foundation of Balay Pasilungan, Inc. participated in a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training—an important step in building a safer, more prepared, and more resilient community.

More than learning CPR techniques, our children gained confidence, developed a sense of responsibility, and discovered that even at a young age, they can become calm, compassionate, and capable of helping others in times of emergency. These are life skills that can make a lasting difference wherever they go.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), especially our dedicated trainers, Mr. Crispin Fabracuer, Jr. and Ms. Crezel Ignacio, for generously sharing your knowledge, skills, and passion for saving lives. Your engaging and hands-on training has inspired both our children and staff to be better prepared when every second matters.

At Balay Pasilungan, we believe that protecting children also means empowering them with knowledge, practical skills, and the confidence to care for others.

STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS. SHAPING BRIGHTER FUTURES.

The Foundation of Balay Pasilungan, Inc. was honored to participate in the Stakeholders’ Forum of Assumption College of Davao through its GIYA Initiative for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).

Representing our Foundation was our Center Manager, Ms. Kris Clair Gonzaga, RSW, who joined fellow industry partners, alumni, faculty, and stakeholders in meaningful conversations aimed at strengthening collaboration, gathering valuable insights, and continuously enhancing academic programs to better prepare graduates for the evolving needs of society.

At Balay Pasilungan, we believe that strong partnerships between educational institutions and community organizations create lasting impact—not only for students, but also for the children, families, and communities we serve.

A CELEBRATION OF FAITH, LIFE AND FRIENDSHIP

Balay Pasilungan joyfully celebrated the Baptism of three of our boys at St. Jude Thaddeus Shrine Parish. On the same day, we also celebrated the birthday of one of our boys, making the occasion even more meaningful and joyful.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to "Tito Shaly" - Shalykhan Kazakhan, a longtime friend of Balay Pasilungan, for generously sponsoring this special celebration.

His presence made the day a beautiful expression of interfaith friendship and blessing - a reminder that kindness, compassion, and love for children can unite people of different faith traditions.
